Well I go to the gym for a few hours and come back to read this. We beat the English champions, hit 40 points, chasing down a top 10 finish and we're at war with each other on here. Looks like Guido has fixed everything I don't mind the arguements lads, just make sure they don't get personal etc or I'll start moaning because you lot are moaning
All I can add here is I'm happy with the new manager , I'm happy with the striker that manager brought in ,I'm happy we are 14 points from relegation in 12th place . I'm happy being in the top 2 in the form table . In the big picture , I'm a happy jack , with no time to put a microscope on expierenced managers and strikers as we pass failure in the outside lane . Season # 6 ....exists and excites .
Kiff your assement is flawed, regarding some who are 'over the top' just as you say because of the Chelsea result. It is not the Chelsea result on it's own now is it, and it just so happens to coincide with our magical 40 points, and remember this when some where stating we would be lucky to get 35 points some months back, I stood by my conviction in our Management team that we will get 43 points, now that is not overreacting rubbish at all, but simply an understanding of how things will work out, an understanding of the team, and faith in the club to bring us back on course, you are correct on the negative game the Italians tend to play, but you forget that Franco cannot make the changes he wants and the style when we are fighting for our lives, I suppose it's all about perception, and while you would like to see Rodgers back, I on the other hand take on board that he did not want to put his reputation on the line, when we needed him to help us while in the drop box, but Franco did, and for that he deserves respect, and hopefully a crack at next season too, Curt also looks as if he is enjoying the partnership with Franco, and I'll put money on Huw staying with the current setup............
It would be more amazing at this point if the Foxes didn't win the title . Couple that with the probability of 3 established teams falling out of the Premier . All 3 teams coming up from the Championship staying up and 3 more coming next season . Big money is great , but it ain't everything . A good playing and financial system can overwhelm good money ... This season proves it IMO .
I dont think the debate about Guidolin has got out of hand at all. There's pros and cons and both camps have voiced opinions mainly in good tone. I think any bad feelings that may have come across all stem from our frustrations as we flirted with relegation. That's why I biggin' up the players, we got so tense just watching so just think how they were feeling and then with all that fear and pressure they still had to go and get the points we desperately needed and they did. I'm on the fence re Guidolin because his job is not over yet, he's still got five games left. Now we're safe imo, these five games belong to Guidolin and he has a great opportunity to show us what he can do without the weight of the world pn his shoulders. In May we'll have more of an idea about him and I'd like us to cross the finish line before we start dishing out the medals. To make the weekend even better, Sunderland just lost 2-0 yay!
In the final analysis whether we stick with Franco & Curt or move to someone new like Rodgers will be down to our freshly invigorated board and Huw, I'll be happy whatever happens, but I do think that Franco deserves the chance to a contract extension, particularly if he gets us in the top 10, which will now be his next target...........
How we play the next 5 games will play a huge outcome on what happens in summer , as much as all the points we got under Guido so far . I' m hoping we find a good run till seasons end . Like Phil though , I think Guido has already earned the chance to go on .
I didn't feel we were in the position just to play attractive football when Franco first arrived, safety first and grinding out points was right and his illness probably hampered what he wanted to do. I know that from a money point of view it is important to finish as high as we can but now that we are safe I want to see if he can develop a more attacking style for the remainder of the season with the future in mind. If yesterday was a sample I am quite optimistic and if we do well in the upcoming games I would be quite happy for him to stay.
