I don't think Ollie will be back (admission of defeat by management), and I can't see how things would greatly improve if he did come back. I'm still hoping SM can turn our team of misfits into a smooth, operating outfit . He hasn't got long. The board must already be considering other options.
Ollie is probably still on the payroll and he'd get the players giving their best for the Club which obviously McClaren is not doing, many seem worse players than they were last season. McClaren appears to know nothing about either wingers or team formations, looks too stubborn and proud, and thinks he's done it all before. Ollie knows most of the players well, could be available now and wouldn't need 10 bloody games to sort them out. I'd prefer Warnock, but he's busy, so are doubtless most other better Managers out there.
If Cardiff don’t win today I would expect Colin’s days to be numbered before too many more games take place. Couldn’t see him coming back here though, nor could I see Holloway coming back either.
Don’t think Cardiff will sack him at any point this season. They’re giving it a go unlike Huddersfield who just seem to play for a 0-0 until they concede.
Last year Bolton were safe with 43 and bottom 3 got 37 and 41 and 41. Currently we're on projected of 46 points which is where Brum finished on 19th last season. Massive gamble.if they stick with SM and at this rate we'll finish in a lower position than last year. All rather depressing.
Even if we do stick with SM for this season and scrape together enough points to stay up, I worry what state he’ll leave the club in. At the end of last season there was optimism about a promising crop of young players and of them only Lumley and Eze are playing, with Eze criminally out of position. Hemed and Wells won’t be here next season. Lynch is nearly 31 and just plain ****. Cameron is 33. Rangel is 87. It’ll be another summer of upheaval having given up on the youth after three games.
Sad but true. You really would have to have blue and white blood coursing through your veins to return a third time when it's clear by now that the owners will always see you as a stop gap measure to be discarded when a reputation for success, however undeserved, becomes available and many fans don't want you.
Fair point. What I'd like to know from Amit, TF, Reuben or whoever is whether there actually is a plan or not. If I knew that the plan was 1. Stick with SM and current team and hope that enough points to survive. 2. Start over in 18/19 with FFP behind us and 3. SM or new manager 4. PL 3 to 4 yrs after that, I'd be happy just to know there is a plan of some sort. I'm lucky enough to be able to go to home games with the rare away game and minimal transport costs as live West London. I can understand why folk finding it increasingly challenging to come to games. ANY news on the training ground and stadium would help too. Anyone know if the Car Giant bloke owns a thoroughbred race horse whose head he's very fond of?!

I think Clive's report sums up what most of us were thinking anyway. It's quite frightening to have it crystallised like this, though. I've criticised people before for calling for managers' heads before they've had a proper chance, but I'm already thinking this man is wrong for our club.
Thats a brutal read. Sounds like McClown has lost the dressing room already, going to be a long winter ahead, with probably no fresh legs coming in in January.

Surprisingly generous with the ratings. If he goes 4-4-2 with two non-wingers out wide again on Tuesday it will get ugly. I’ve never known us to have such an instantly unpopular manager.
