Saw that earlier , also nice to see that french player not only plays left back but has expierence playing CB , nice bonus .
Sorry camp, pressed dislike by mistake Let's hope the board don't arse around and get both deals done ASAP.
Some caution on Fernandez... + - Argentina International (26 caps) - 25 yrs old (best years should be ahead of him) - 6ft 3 - Has Champions League experience - Not prolific but has scored from set pieces (including 2 against Bayern in the CL) - - last year he only played 18 league games for Napoli, plus 3 domestic cup games and 5 European games. - the previous year he only played 2 league, 1 domestic cup and 5 European games for Napoli. He also played 14 games for Getafe on loan - In his first year at Napoli he played 16 league, 1 cup and 2 European (1 of which was the Bayern game where he scored 2) In short, he seems to have a good pedigree but has remained on the fringes at Napoli...they paid €3m for him and we look like paying €10m 3 years later. All signings are a risk and he is an exciting prospective signing given the pedigree but there is a chance he won't live up to expectations. Unfortunately he represents a big risk at £8m compared to say, Caulker (similar price but we knew he could work with Ash) or Chico...who at £2m was low risk and ended up a bargain. Hopefully people won't get on his back if he joins and doesn't fill Chico's boots...
Have you noticed how much transfer fees have become inflated dramatically over the last 2 seasons. Chico from £2million to £4 million and Fernandez from £3 million to £7 million. Chico is no better than he was 2 years ago and probably Fernandez isn't either. These are only 2 examples of many. It is getting ridiculous and to continue to compete we are going to have pay these fees.
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...dez-Napoli-target-Timothee-Kolodziejczak.html Mail saying it should be done in next 48 hours. Timothee could end up being a bargain at £3 million too.
Defensive midfielder should be the priority as well, after Saturday's debacle. Timothee is not going to come here and play second fiddle to Taylor.
We're mixing up pounds and Euros I think... Chico - Cost us £2m (ish) in the summer of 2012 has played constantly for 2 seasons and left in 2014 for £4m (ish) - So his value more or less doubled Fernandez - Cost Napoli 3m Euros in 2011, has been onthe fringes of the Napoli squad for 3 seasons (including a loan) and has left in 2014 for 10m Euros - So his value has more than tripled For us to be considered as having the best of this deal Fernandez would have to be a significant improvement on Chico. (As we made £2m profit on Chico but are paying approx. £8.5m for Fernandez - and we know Chico could cut it in the Prem whereas there is a risk there in the Fernandez deal) ....to be honest, with a week to go and the importance of making a good start, I just want somebody who knows what he is doing here ASAP....this deal doesn't get on my tits as much as the Ben Davies deal, we just need a solution now (before Bartley gets injured and Tancock appears on the bench). I have no such worries with the Timothee deal. I reckon we can't go too far wrong with that one. Just hope he chooses us and wish he had been brought in days after Davies' departure. Do you have an explanation as to why the transfer fees have been inflated both here and abroad these past 2 seasons Nosugar? Are we sure that is the case even? (Don't keep too close an eye on Serie A myself)
Done deal according to the Mail. Just waiting for the work permit. Swans hopeful he'll be able to play at Old Trafford. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...-League-opener-against-Manchester-United.html This is a great signing, and will and real quality to the defence.
I think that clubs with wealthy owners such as Man City, Chelsea etc. are paying unrealistic prices and wages for players and now this sort of owner is buying French and Russian clubs as well. I believe this is having a domino effect on the rest of the transfer market with even clubs like Arsenal struggling to keep up. Until last season Wenger had resisted but even he is now having to jump on the bandwagon.
Can't add anything to that. My concern is he'll spend as much time on the injury table as on the pitch. Strange playing stats 3 seasons 50 team games and 25 internationals. Can't believe we have allowed Chico to go!
Got no probs throwing Amat or Bartley in the deep end pitting each other ,trading games , till we come up with a winner .Then wait it out till Jan. If things arent working have a look . Dont like the price for Fernandes , but will wecome his trasfer if he comes ... if not ..
