In this case, my criteria is he didn't do it in Europe, or a major European league, Brazilian football is good, but the quality is not as high as your Premier league, La Liga, Bundesliga etc.
Giroud is a good player but he's playing for top team like Arsenal that has a top quality midfield which creates a lot. Bare that in mind when assessing Giroud.
You also have to bear in mind that his style of play means that he's actually involved in creating a lot of those chances too along with the midfield around him. Look at the goals Ramsey has scored recently, the majority of them Giroud has had a hand in creating.
Giroud still had a golden chance to score, a chance a top quality striker would have scored. It's not like he hasn't been fed, even against Stoke Ozil made a good chance for him which he just hit sky high.
Ozil is one of my favourite players. He is fantastic but he also missed a chance one on one against the goal keeper against Swansea. It happens.
Nine times out of ten he would have buried that chance, so I don't think you can keep singling out that one chance as an example. Also Ozil probably had a better chance to score when he was one on one with the keeper but he fluffed it, but you don't hear anybody constantly pulling him up for it. Giroud is doing well this season and contributing a lot to the team, I think you need to concentrate on the positives he offers the team instead of looking for small negatives.
He had a similar one VS Chelsea last season at Stamford Bridge, he didn't bury it, just like this one, in the same place, he hit it wide. Ozil is not a striker, he should've scored it, but he's not an out and out scorer, his job isn't to score goals, it's to make and create goals, which he's been doing great so far.
We're talking about this season. So far he has done really well, you can't keep pulling him up for that one chance he missed. Ozil should have buried his chance too, regardless of whether he's an out and out striker. As for him making and creating goals, Giroud is doing almost as well as Ozil in that department too. Your negativity towards him says more about your bias against him than anything else.
Arsenal87, Robin Van Persie misses a lot of chances too. Many strikers do. Most people I listen to on TV are saying how well Giroud is playing. That Liverpool chap Carager (?) said he was the best striker in the league so far this year. There are some different views about Giroud then but you can not deny his record so far this season. It is good.
RVP has earned the right to miss chances by making up for it with the amount of goals he's scored, he has like what, 80 goals in the last 3 season?
3 games without a goal, and missed a golden chance to score, yes siry I can critique that, Giroud's job isn't to create goals, it's to score goals. It's like judging a defender saying he's been fantastic for scoring and creating goals....ignoring the fact he's been weak in defence and conceded 8 goals in 4 games.
This is a poor argument. Look at the chance conversion stats for strikers around Europe - even so-called "elite" strikers miss a lot. To pull Giroud up for one miss & not scoring in 3 games when he's one of the PL's top scorers this season & providing goals for the rest of his team is just ludicrous. You're far, far wrong 87, especially with the way you're labouring the same points over and over which lack any sense of truth or substance.
Don't compare Giroud, with elite strikers....I have to repeat that point a million times because it seems some of you just can't stop making that invalid comparison...The next time Bendtner misses a sitter, are you going to go on about how top elite strikers also miss sitters? Giroud should've scored against Swansea, end of story. I expect Giroud to score tomorrow and have him down as my prediction scorer, let him hopefully deliver now.
Why not just admit you misread the game and move on. You made a comment from ignorance that Giroud was playing ****, and didn't realize that the majority of knowledgeable observers would say that he played well, despite missing one clear chance and not scoring for 3 games. It would have been no big deal, problem is you are now just digging a deeper hole for yourself by trying to prove that you are right, and the vast majority of the football world are wrong.
You ****ing moron, when did I ever say Giroud was playing ****? Go on, find me that quote dick. And you also want to talk about the rest of the football world you silly cock head? When you have come out with some of the most bat **** insane points that are at odds with what the rest of the football world say, so don't appeal to the experts now you silly ****. You and experts are like a gay guy banging women left right and centre, they don't mix.
Here's one of my posts: "I'm not saying he's ****, he's a good striker, just thinks he needs to step his game up on a consistent basis now, he should've buried that chance he got." So toledo the **** trumpton, tell me where I said Giroud's **** or playing ****, I just said it's not good enough that he didn't score that chance, and going 3 games without a goal now.
Speaking of experts Toledo, you were the buffoon going on about Arsenal being title challengers last year, what did all experts have to say about that? You also said RVP wouldn't replicate his form with United after he left us, not only did he replicate it, his form for United helped them to the league, the list goes on with that bat **** insane analysis you've made here, so again don't ever mention the experts or the football opinions of the experts, because you'd be laughed at like a clown if your opinions were put out there.
Where'd you go? Scrambling through all my posts to see where I said Giroud's been playing sh!t? Keep looking, like Bush searching for WMD's in Iraq.
