I will agree he should have scored it but he made up for it with the lovely play with Ramsey for the 2nd and overall I thought he did a solid job. He needs to be more consistent no denying that.
Oh great, LegoBrick has arrived to assist TT in his merry WUM of this board. Someone, please bring me my detonators..
Who wants to bet, come end season, RVP-Suarez will have more goals than Giroud. It's up to Giroud to prove the doubters wrong, he should've buried that chance he got today.
Don't ask! Apart from Shelvey we had a different 11 out, but it was still a good side. We missed a few chances in the first half - then Birmingham dumped us out of the Cup
Hey, I am not the crazy one with the warped sense of reality. I posted disagreeing with Krome when he said Giroud was playing badly. No problem. But these WUM posts are winding me up. There is no ****ing way a moderately sane person can say that a player that is #10 in the stats, and top-scorer in the league is playing badly. Certainly no one claiming to be an Arsenal supporter should even be entertaining the idea.
not to be pedantic but , all the other teams are playing well below par , therefore that opinion may well have some credence . In the land of crap strikers , the average striker is king.
I disagree, don't think he did a solid job today, he looked quite lazy today, and for some reason was tired, Gnarby a youth, played 120 minutes in mid-week, and still scored today, and put a goal on the plate for Giroud, and didn't look lazy out there like Giroud. Giroud needs to step up, in the last 3 games it's been our midfield, and in the case of Stoke, our defenders who have bailed us out by scoring.
Do you go to bed at night praying to OptaSports or something? Anyone can manipulate stats to make someone look good, it's how they look on the field that counts. And Giroud isn't what we need if we want to win the title.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/top-scorers you cant tell me this list blows you away .................. really ? Coz if it does........... You are farther gone than we thought.
This may sound strange but , i was glad when he took Shelvey off . He is a loose cannon , does some crackers stuff but ......he does deliver some dangerous long passes.
Don't really understand this. The guy is equal top of the league. He is scoring, he is assisting, he is holding up the ball, he is defending. Yes, he looked tired at the end, no wonder to me.
1 Arsenal 6 6 15 2 Tottenham 6 4 13 3 Chelsea 6 4 11 4 Southampton 6 3 11 5 Man City 6 7 10 6 Liverpool 5 2 10 7 Hull 6 -1 10 8 Everton 5 2 9 9 Aston Villa 6 1 9 10 West Brom 6 1 8 11 Cardiff 6 -1 8 12 Man Utd 6 0 7 i just though i would post this for eveyones amusement . The gap between us and the frothy cheesy scum . most satisfying .
Nice, we effectively have 2 games in hand when they finally get a competent manager and start climbing back up the table.
you dont understand it .? If that was 34 goals at the end of the season , and not 4 at the beginning . i would be more inclined to boast about it . to praise him as the " joint top scorer "this far in is a bit much dont you think ?
IF they get a competent manager , i think they are stubborn enough to stick their heads in the sand and brass it out , god i hope so .
I don't know how whoscored.com work out their ratings, but I would like to know what weight they add to each contribution to a game. Stats can obviously only tell you so much, and never seem to take into account off the ball contributions. However, they are good at telling us what players do with the ball. According to them, Giroud is: 2nd in the league at winning aerial duels behind Benteke; 1st in the league at successful through balls for a striker; 4th in the league at key passes for a striker; =1st in the league for goals =1st in the league for assists for a striker; 6th in the league at turnovers. These aren't to be sniffed at, and I doubt there are many - if any - of us who register half the things he does. That's not to say I think Giroud is a wonderful player (his conversion rate is still low - a goal per six shots) - there are upgrades around for sure - but he has contributed a lot so far this season so far. If anyone is to properly counter whoscored.com rating him as the 10th best player in Europe's top five leagues, then they've got to put across a pretty thorough case; 'because I watch the games and think so' isn't enough.
those stats are great but when YOU watch him , would you describe him as the 10th best player in europe. ? Of course you wouldnt . Stats are just stats . he has scored ONE more goal than Hull City's striker . wanna swap him ?
