We're top with a bare bones squad. Whoever would have thought it? (Not me for starters). Can't wait to see what we're like when we're back to full strength.
yeah you seemed to just waltz thru us sometimes ,to the edge of the box , fortunately , when the delivery came in it was duff.
People should stop blaming Szczesny for every little thing. Gent, you said you wouldn't mind if this was the last time he played for us? Ridiculous and reactionary crap. Get over your hatred for the player please. Flamini also did really well. Not a lot came through the middle. I think Wilshere is finding it hard out on the left. He's simply not a winger, but I don't see him starting when everyone is back. Will be Ramsey + Arteta or Flamini behind Cazorla+Ozil+Walcott. Ozil is finding it hard to adapt now. Lost it too many times, didn't create much of anything. The honeymoon is over, time for him to get with the pace a bit more. Sagna good 1st half, but he tired towards the end. Ramsey could be our Lampard with the way he's appearing in the box all the time to score. Gnabry is showing moments of promise. Needs to produce that more consistently. Reminds me of Oxo a bit.
very impressed with the lad Gnabbers , took hold of the ball and run at em . A bit like the ox , but with a finish . powerful , " fuck off thats my ball " attitude.
I'm now off to my local hostilery to drink copious amounts of draught bitter in celebration of us being top of the league
Arsegun , i think maybe you are a bit harsh on Ozil today , Swansea are a good team , they play very similar to us , it was always gonna be hard to make chances against them . They are disciplined and experienced. Against such a team , Ozil is not going to set the world alight , but he did ok Wait till he plays against lesser organised teams. Youll see.
To be fair to Ozil, it's hard to create chances when the CF bears more resemblance to a totem pole than a football player.
Maybe, though apart from the assists, I had the same criticism of him against Stoke. I just think he's having a problem adapting to the pace and style. Too many times he was caught on the ball or tried to do too much. There's no point dropping him though because he just needs to get over it. So this isn't a condemnation of the player by any means. I know he'll get much better.
Our next 3 league fixtures are West Brom (A), Norwich (H), Crystal Palace (A) which i think are all games we can win. And that takes us up to November by which point we should have some more of our players back from injury.
November is the test. Can we go to Old Trafford and win, if WBA can do it (and we beat them with our kids), then we should be able to manage it
I'm not basing it on a single game. Szczesny is not first choice keeper material for a top club, and he has shown it for years. But one reflexive save or another and everything is supposed to be forgotten? My opinion of him is anything but reactionary. If anything the guys who say "what were you saying about Chesney" after a single save are reactionary. He is leagues behind the other keepers of the clubs that can challenge this year IMO. (At shot stopping he may even be among the best, but that is not the only metric)
Biggest worry from that game would be Giroud, that was almost as bad as his performance against Utd last season
He covered the defender and knew what he was doing. No danger cam from it and the referee had signalled the ball was out already. It was good play. The goalkeeper had a really good game I just can not get why some go crazy if just one long ball does not go perfectly to an Arsenal player.
