Where we play him is another question. I was simply making the point that I don't understand the hate here. Phil in particular seems to have taken against him. I don't get it myself.
Sunderland will finish bottom , Villa 19th ....Sunderland are putting on one of the worst performances I've seen from a Premier League team, especially in defence There will be a massive battle to not finish in that 18th spot though with Norwich nicking it imo Got a good feeling about our chances of avoiding relegation , with it having nothing to with our play really .
I personally don't like his attitude when he/we lose the ball and he just struts around the pitch at times. Imo, we should never have signed him. Put him in a Sam Allerdyce type side and he'll be ok. I just think he doesn't understand how we try to play, nor do I think he has the ability.
If we hadn't have signed him we'd have probably been 5 places lower last season. I can't agree. We nicked quite a few games through his speculative efforts and assists that went in.
He doesn't strike the ball on target or thread the passes through often enough for me and his head drops too easily. The only people I hate are those who inflict cruelty on fellow humans and animals who are not able to stand up for themselves.
Don't hate him, but I simply do not think he is good enough, far too hot and cold with the emphasis on cold, we lose the ball far too much with him and Gomis, and he weakens our midfield, not to mention how shocking his short passing is. We are in need of some extreme measures now, as we are sitting in the bottom three, and we can do without Shelveys lack of fight and poor ball control...........
Singling him out when virtually the whole team has been pants is simply unfair imo. But I do think that a new manager will sweep clean. Either the players, including Shelvey, will step up or they won't be picked. NO MORE CLIQUES & FAVOURITES PLEASE!
I agree the whole team have been pants, but one or two are costing us serious possession issues, and I see Gomis and Shelvey as the main issues here......
The possession issues this season lie more with who weren't playing rather than who was . To play Shelvey from a weak position, away from his strengths , and blame him for it afterwards is more than unfair imo .
Yes indeed, and if Curtis knows his football (which he does) both Gomis and Shelvey will be on the bench, we cannot afford for these two to weaken our midfield and front line, we need a win tomorrow.............. PS: Dogfight time, crap players benched please.
Yes it's sleeves rolled up time tomorrow and WBA on Boxing day won't be easy either because if we win tomorrow WBA know if they lose to us we will be level on points with them.
I have to say well done to Leicester though, it's the sort of season some of us dreamed of - if we'd kicked on like we'd hoped we might. Top at Xmas, just phenomenal.
Both Bournemouth and Leicester players are showing hunger for the game, our players look like they would prefer to be somewhere else, we will see tomorrow if they can show some serious backbone, knowing they go into this game in the drop zone.............
DON`T PANIC! GM said we will never be in a relegation fight! How right he was? I`m not that convinced that we will win tomorrow. I hope I`m wrong and we knock a load in.That will be a first, as we can`t even find the target a lot of the time. Come on Curt, get the magic working.
