Just like your chum yesterday <ok>
As for getting it wrong, I would have happily taken a point before the game. The fact that people here are dissappointed with the game today, given we have only lost 1-0 to a top four team is a huge testiment to how far this team has progressed under ML. Maybe one day, you might (like my fellow posters on here have) acknowledge this <ok>

Double standards on this board today. One rule for one and one rule for another

My mate who is season ticket holder at Tottenham got me seat in the West Stand today and I was so looking forward to us taking the game to Spurs. Unfortunately the first and last 10 minutes aside that was not too be. Ki was dreadful and shows how much we are missing Hernandez. His first touch was poor and ML should have substituted him well before he did.
I also agree Dyer had an off day and he should have done much better with the great chance he had with the header.

Ash and Chico had good games - not sure what Chico's amateur dramatics were all about when he collapsed on the touchline.

Michu tried really hard but was not playing in hid most effective position. All my Spurs mates were really expecting us to go at them and probably 50% of them had us to draw or win so they were really surprised with out tactics today.

I was dissapointed too, no ones mentioned Routledge either if he had actually stuck his swede on that cross in the first half......

He seemed like he didn't know what to do with it. It was as if it was too low for a header but too high for a volley.
Shame really cos if a chance like that had fallen to Michu it would have probably hit the back of the net off whatever he decided to put on it

Are the players and fans relying to much on michu, It seems everyone is trying to get the ball to him instead of playing like we can and let the ball do the work with our passing, If the ball comes to michu that way then we will do a lot better, I noticed a few long balls aimed at michu during the spurs game and that's not our style, Our best style is starting from the back and out passing the opposition getting the ball forward using the wingers, it seemed like players were trying to get the ball to michu at every opportunity and it was going astray to a spurs player....Maybe laudrup wanted to play like that i dont know but it was not working as we never had a shot on target and that is not like us, We would get a few chances on target against better teams than spurs and that is why im so disappointed with the tactics used yesterday.

You make a few decent points. I don't mind the odd long ball and think we should do it - it makes us less predictable and keeps the oppo defence honest.

Michu is not a front striker. He doesn't like it there; he has said so and he is not as effective as when he plays behind another striker. If Laudrup doesn't have sufficient confidence in DG or Moore then a striker must be a priority signing in January. Meantime, it would help if JdG and Ki started putting a foot in where it hurts to win us some ball to play with. We are cream puff in midfield and need some grunt there as soon as possible.

Agree ivor, I have watched the game 3 times now trying to figure out why we were so invective up front. Its not like us not to have 3 or 4 very good shots on target even against better teams and i noticed the passing was primarily aimed at michu and instead of the triangles and short passes which we are so good at there was an significant increase in long passes that were easily dealt with by spurs. The players must have been told to try that by laudrup because they would not play like that normally. I just think it was a bad day at the office where we tried something slightly different and i don't think we will play them tactics again. I just had to watch the game again to make some sense of it and you can clearly see the attempts of long passes or long balls towards Michu at every opportunity....Im sure laudrup wont play like that again as its not our style and talking to some of my mates today were shocked we were so poor going forward and that is down to long balls being intercepted by the spurs players most of the time and putting our defense under immense pressure....never mind a lesson learned i hope and on to the next game...

I think it was a combination of things on Sunday. A lot was down to the way the team was set up and totally agree with the above comments re Michu in the lone role. Against the big guns away ML appears to go for the sit back and absorb and try and nick one on the break.

Some credit must go to Spurs though after the first 10 mins when they sat back the remainder of the game they pressurised us in midfield and thats where we lost out mainly due to Ki's ineffectiveness.

The Spurs weakness was their full backs and we just didn't go at them, if we had been more positive I think we could have got something.

Some good points in the above posts . Glam exile hits it for me though, credit must sometimes go to the opposition, our two best players from last season cant Even Get in their first eleven! That gives us food for thought i Think <ok>
