I agree with that. Not sure you'd have been so magnanimous before Monk's appointment but let's not go there.
Expecting instead of trying, sums up our mindset on Saturday. We expected to win this game and played as if the points had already been awarded to us. We were so indifferently our intensity could be matched by a bunch of lazy fat kids strolling thier way through a hot Sunday knock about in the park. Through our own hubris we dropped our guard and deservedly, an embarrassingly poor Newcastle side sucker-punched us.....twice. Don't mind losing when were beaten but giving points away as we did is sloppy, unbecoming, annoying and disappointing. One of the most frustrating performances I've seen in recent years. Me no happy and would be beasting them in training today. .
Agreed but watch out for the "look-where-we-are-in-the-league-and-how-far-we've-come" brigade. You're not allowed to criticise, see. Top post Stumpy.
And who is giving the 'beast in'? Monk? Surely not as he sat back and watched it unfold without any thought of ensuring the points with positive use of subs (and not for the first time). And who is hammering at the board's door to find out why didn't replace Ben and get back ups for Rangel & Leon. Without Jazz Richards being able to slot in (and do a very good job) we would be well and truly shafted. We had two (three if count Amat) first choice players out; just two.
In all its squandering , I seen a team on Saturday ready for anyone soon , pieces coming together nicely imo 6 points from the next 2 games , but ivebeen wrong before..
5th in the league without a striker to call on form and we only see the moaning mini's who were upset at monks appointment Just take a good look at where monk has got us too and that is bloody fantastic with a poor strike force.....very happy with that..
