Norway, Tate always gives 110%, wherever he is picked, always has done always will do, not all footballers can say the same. Never heard him moan, never heard of him being difficult about contracts, always about supporting the local community. I bet there are plenty of clubs that would like to have him. Great to see him getting stuck in for us again yesterday, in cynical times its great to see a fantastic clubman, it was always an ambition of mine to see him play in the prem and his place is fully deserved. Super Alan Tate, No1 Swan!
Gendros agree, Tate bleeds Swansea and is a Legend. I'm glad that he's accomplished what he set out to do, but time and injuries catches up with everyone and sadly it's doing so with Tatey and Monk unfortunate but true.
I didn't see the game so my comments are based purely on MOD highlights, which I watched several times. 1)Neil Taylor was rather unfortunate to incur his injury. Sad for him,as it looks like a long lay off. I didn't see any malice in the tackle, and the Sunderland player was not to blame for what happened. 2)Chico could have been sent off TWICE,although he did win the ball in the first challenge,so perhaps I'm being a bit harsh. The high boot was a definite sending off,but it was sad to see Saha milking the situation. Professional footballers can be quite sickening in their behaviour.I wonder if MON encourages such actions. 3)Both teams were denied penalties. Poor refereeing. 4)Ashley Williams looked like a Sunday League player when he attempted that back pass to Vorm. He was not in a good position to execute it,and he had much easier options for dealing with the ball. Having said that,Fletcher scored a terrific goal. 5)An excellent goal by Routledge. 6)Shambolic defending for Fletcher's second. This guy loves playing against The Swans'. 7)Terrific equaliser by Michu. 8)MON cut a pitiful figure as he pranced up and down the touchline like a three year old whose elder sibling had taken his box of crayons. I've never been a fan of his,and I watched his abject performance with a smile on my face, since he was merely confirming my opinion of him. His body language at the post match interview resembled that of a cornered rat. 9)Swansea City Manager,Mr. Michael Laudrup, showed MON how to behave with dignity ,style and class.
Think you lads are selling your very impressive side short with the 'parked the bus' comments etc. We tried, everytime we got the ball, to break at pace and get at you, it was simply the quality of your front 6 that meant we simply had to spend long spells defending, we wanted to win the game, no question. The ref had a horror, I don't like to see an SAFC player do what Saha did, both our goals were gifts, but same token, several time McLean & Johnson got into good positions and squandered it. We are a counter attacking side, and yeah, sometimes it looks like we're being defensive, but believe me, I doubt any other team will peg us back as much as that all season, the movement, touch and short passing from your lads at times was exceptional. I've watched all 3 of your games, and it's such a credit that your worst display was yesterday, and you still deserved the 3 points against us, make no mistake we have some real quality in our squad, and you bossed it for long periods. Give your lads credit, you made us look beyond average, thank god we signed a finisher, as otherwise, we may have had a real bitch slapping. I'll be watching you boys all season, and i'll enjoy it. Final point, nicest kit in the PL you lads have, looks ****ing great
Hey MONsMush, you may be right about selling ourselves short. Guess we all feel a bit disappointed with just the 1pt though. Your front 4 could be quite exceptional once they've gelled. fletcher is a great signing!
Yeah, definitely mate. Remember, Fletch & Sessegnon had no pre-season, AJ has only played once v Morecambe, the match off last week v Reading, well this early in a season, you need the games. Your boys were exceptional in midfield, and strangled AJ out of it for long periods. You do need some work at the back, but you'll score hat-loads.
I don't think Sunderland parked the bus at all. Absolute rubbish. But they were very adept at stifling our attacking play and as I've said elsewhere we really had to score two very good goals to get anything. Very well organised and hard to break down kind of sums them up for me.
We'll improve as an attacking force mate, your boys simply had a bit more sharpness, cohesion and confidence about your play. Williams, I really rate, he had a mare, we were fortunate to come away with a point, but unquestionably we wanted all 3. When you went down to 10, we couldn't kick on as being a game shy, and having chased shadows for long periods, the players didn't have the energy to try and force it. I think we'll be fighting you for 8th, or thereabouts, and how amazing is that for a team that a few years back had a stadium that needed bombed, and nearly fell out of the league? Credit to you.
Sunderland parked the bus alright, every time we had the ball going forward, they had 11 men behind it, try putting your specs on girls!............
I have just emailed this to ML http://mr-renoog-videos.blogspot.co.uk/2010/12/10-ways-to-break-through-parked-bus.html
Parked bus implies a team that didn't want to get forward and win the game. I didn't see that. We dictated possession and they smothered us for sure, but they also had their chances, and Fletchers' goals were predatory. I've seen loads of times at the Vetch and the Liberty when teams have truly parked the bus but yesterday wasn't one of them. Just my opinion.
Good one Valley! Can't make my mind up whether they played the 4-4 bus, or the 4-5 bus, there again it did look at times like the 5-5 bus!.........
