MOTD showed too that Chico is a nutter attempting a challenge like that and that Saha is a big ponce because he hardly touched him if at all

Even though he missed him it was a red. Ridicolous challenge.

The question is - how likely is he to keep on making rash challenges through the season? We can't have him ot for 9/10 games due to bans if he has a couple of red cards.

It's the inconsistency that does my head in....I can't name you specific examples but I am sure I have seen similar high feet in Man U and Man City etc. games that go completely unpunished (Rooney I'm sure has got away scot free with similar).
And what happened to the obstruction rule. Today Dyer chased the full back into the corner, after a hashed clearance by their goalkeeper under pressure, and the full back spent the 15 yards ignoring the ball and trying to block Dyer....it got right the way to the corner flag with Dyer trying to get his foot in, tamely, and nick the ball away and the ref gives THEM a free kick! He then gestures to Dyer to calm down!
    It's bullshit.
I see it every week and the end result being the team who's actually trying to play football being punished instead of the team who's come to park the bus and kick and cheat.

I don't think I have ever seen one that high! The obstruction rule, sadly, appears to have disappeared.

Our whole back line were off their heads today, Rangel was giving penalties away, Taylor brought it on himself, and it's been coming for some time, Williams had a shocker, and Chico looks likely to collect a few reds this season, very poor discipline from our back line which cost us 2 points today, something Laudrup will need to address, we now have Taylor out for at least 8 weeks, and Chico out for 3 match ban, and then we send in Tate? How the hell is Tate even on the bench, he's a liability at this level, hope this lad from Arsenal is half decent, and I don't want to see Taty coming on again!............<ok>

I for one was proud of our team today. They showed real spirit in adversity and it was us looking to win the game in Chico time. Sunderland parked the bus and showed nothing. They are a travesty of a football team. I would hate it if we played like them.

They are indeed a travesty of a football team, playing 11 men behind the ball all game, but we have now got issues at the back due to our poor discipline, Taylor has been a disaster in waiting with the way he goes into tackles, and Chico looks like a madman on times, and is now out for 3 games, and the sight of Tate coming to the rescue is quite frightening!............<ok>

So after 1 game and without giving the likes of Adam Johnson, McClean, Fletcher and Sessegnon time to gel we are a travesty of a football team. All judged on 1 game? WOW!

I admit yesterday we were very poor, we know that but O'Neil will get it right (as he did yesterday by coming away unbeaten), he's a winner and a top class manager. I really feel we will pick up and continue to get stronger.

You look really good mind and another comfortable mid table finish should be on the cards for you <ok>

Glad to see Tate get his ambition of playing against his boyhood team, and boy did he rescue the Swans with his block in the last few minute's. We all dream of a team of Alan Tate's, played everywhere for the Swans even in goal, foundation of where we are now and still not letting the club down. Must be retained in some capacity in the future, in an age where the money god rules Tatey is a true clubman. Ridiculos challenge by Chico that imo cost us a victory.

You really are a very bitter man, at least 90% were clapping (I seen it on MOTD)

Reading through everything, they was obviously a few idiots from both sets of fans who were booing. I loath each and every one of them.

Sunderland may have parked the bus, they might be a "travesty" of a football team, but what did they do, they did`nt lose. Their intention was to not lose the game and try & win, they succeeded in their plan. Not pretty, effective though. We could and should have won it but for stupidity and carelessness on our part.

Still, who had the worst game? I`ll give you a clue, he was carrying a whistle!

safc: I think that poster has already accepted he was wrong. Your take on the booing is dead right.

Sunderland were pretty poor but very well organised in defence and smothered virtually everything. It speaks volumes that our two goals had to be really good.

Yes Tate loves the Swans but dont think for one minute that if he was offered triple his wages elsewhere he would stay here!! the reason he has been a true club man is mostly because nobody else has ever fancied him as a player, harsh but true.

He will always give 100% but then again isnt that whats supposed to happen when your getting paid 10k a week ??

In some ways I was disappointed yesterday, our 3 creative players Johnston, Sess and McClean had mares', and we did not pas the ball around well enough when you went down to 10 men. What is encouraging is that we can and will play better but to come away with an away point from an in 'form' team gives hope for some optimism for us. Together with the fact that Fletcher scored a couple of goals and when he is fully fit may indeed be good buy whether we overpaid or not.

Your fullback's Taylors tackle on Gardner was stupid, the implication from some posts is that is what he does, if he had not injured himself he would have been yellowed carded. Both team and both sets of fans should have clapped him off the pitch no other behaviour is acceptable. The booing of Gardner was necessary Taylor injured himself and it was lucky Gardner was not injured also. Chico's tackle was just plain bonkers and slight contact was made, there was a little cut behind Saha's ear. It could be argued that even if contact had not been made some refs would have red carded him anyhow. We have a problem with Catts he is sometimes hotheaded and gets red or yellow cards and lets the team down, I suspect Chico will have to learn to curb his more aggressive actions or he will become a liability also.

Your two wingers were good, your CF was not so good, this season you are still having lots of possession but at times are more direct , you played like a team, we are not there yet but we have some good players and in time I think we will come good. The league this season looks really tough there are no very poor sides that immediately come to mind, I reckon it will be a long hard season. I suspect that when you come to the SoL we will give you a harder game, iirc we took 4 point of you last season!

My personal take on the Match?

Sunderland came to do a job not lose.

    Ash not his normal self.

Fletcher good striker/poacher ( almost saved Wolves on his own last year ).

Chico put it about but needs to pick his moments. Having said that, someone should have told him what a good player Saha is, and that Chico should never been 1 v 1 against him .

Routledge goal a pearler and I friggin LOVE MICHU!

O'niel after the match, said in terms, he would have taken a point before the game ( as would I ) thought that they would take all three when we went down to 10, but was greatfull for the point after the the full time whistle. He also said that they could learn from us.

For me, when we went down to 10 we showed confidence and I really thought we were going to score again.

    I'm still a very happy Jack Bast*rd!
