I'm worried about this game. If we start the same as we started in the other two league matches we could find ourselves 1 or 2 down. We've been great in the second halves so far but have ridden our luck early on, that luck can't last forever. I'd be happy to win by a goal. Another 3 - 0 would be amazing but I don't see it in this match. Hope I'm very wrong though.
Surprised to not see many of you are very confident off the back of two good opening results. From the outside looking in it is going to be interesting to see how well you do if Sunderland do not roll over and die as your previous two opponents did. I am not suggesting you wont win as I think you probably will (possibly by a 1 goal margin) but in all fairness Swansea have not been tested much so far other than a few corners from West Ham that were scrambled away. I suggested before the season started you would perhaps need 15 points (I think I said 15) before you meet the top sides and you are well on your way to doing that and have 2 or 3 points more than I expected already thanks to the inept QPR defending on the opening day so things could not have been any better for you As for us? Not a patch on last season so far although our overall performance against QPR was getting close. Goals are a slight concern at present (not very clinical in front of goal) but hopefully that will be sorted out soon. Good luck guys
Thai. I fear for Norwich this season. Hopefully you can get your season going soon. Can't see that happening Saturday but maybe after the break. I think most Swans fans realise we've played well but also had a touch of luck so far in both our opening games. Sunderland will be the toughest test so far but I think we can do it.
We have been a bit shaky on times with new players coming in and adjusting to the changes Laudrup wants etc I can see it all coming together in this game though with us attacking in style so sticking my neck out 4-0
I am not unduly concerned yet but perhaps in another 4 or 5 weeks if we are still struggling in front of goal (or at the back) then I will start to fear the worst also. It is nearly impossible to say how the season is going to work out for us as we were totally inept at Craven Cottage but so much better in the following game but without a killer instinct (Holt never really got much service). The referee didn't help the cause much either but nothing new there then
2-0 you predict and Arsenal could not find a way through our defence ! we are solid at the back now and Cuellar was not playing, the one player you have to watch for is not only Johnson and Sess, is Mclean he is better than Bale at the minute, and every player has intergrated but Fletcher is not up to speed yet.
Yeah, not much Good feeling eh? Helps to make defeats more manageable seeing Villa slump to another defeat and perhaps finally everyone will stop saying we only did well last season because of Paul Lambert
I think villa and norwich could go down this season.....sunderland mmmmm .............nah we will win this easy.... I hope
I have been saying that all summer! They looked awful when we played them at the end of the season and didn't do much business to strengthen a great deal. Agbonlahor and Bent are both currently crocked so things are not looking so good for them. Not to worry eh?
Not sure when those two are back, though i thought Bent already was? Maybe wrong. Agbonlahor is a decent player and I'm hoping he'll still be out when we meet them.
i might be wrong with lambert. on the face of it it was a good decision for him to go, villa are a bigger, more established team, they offer good wages, and you've got the 3 s's to deal with at norwich. problem with villa is they are packed full of players like warnock, ireland, hutton who all have attitudes and are on big wages and have so far stolen a living from the club. they have zero fight which is why lambert has frozen 2 of those out completely. as for sunderland o'neill will get them mid table. mclean on one wing johnson on the other, with a big guy up front with plenty of firepower, not the swansea more cultured approach but effective nonetheless. sunderland will set up to nullify and break up play. a tight 2-0 to swansea for me.....
(Sunderland fan) First off why all the hate for us :O ? Predict the game will be very tight, 0-0 or 1-0 to either side. You will absolutely dominate possession and we will set up to counter that by putting a lot of men behind the ball when you have it (which will probably upset some of you) and hitting on the counter. In terms of our team, I personally am really looking forward to our new and improved frontline being tested against prem opposition! We'll probably line up like this Mingolet Gardner-O'Shea-Cuellar-New LB (Maybe Danny Rose)/Colback Larsson-Cattermole Johnson-Sessssssssss-McClean Fletcher/Saha Really looking forward to it! I'll stress this now before the game finishes, please don't come on our board and complain about the tactics if we win or keep a draw. It will only cause bad blood! Like last season when we beat you at the SOL. And about the away following, tbf Sunderland to Swansea is a very long distance to travel, I live in London and I'm in the middle, I can rarely get up to Sunderland cos' of the bloody train fares! Anyway you'll hear the 1,000 going down loud & clear
Safe travels to those coming down What got most of us riled was some of you lot saying "easiest game of the season" which it plainly wasn't (let's not go there again). As a result it was only you lot and QPR fans that we had any grief with last season. Not sure if you missing your game last week was a good or bad thing, but I'm hoping the latter.
Think this will be a tough game, they have made some big signings and have a great manager. We will need to tighten up some of the sloppy passing and play that we have had in both of the first half of the games so far. Still think we could do well if we can do that and keep the momentum going.
