http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthread.php?t=727856&page=7 This should end the debate on the booing. I am rapidly going off them, used to think they were a tidy bunch. how wrong was I.
10 goals so far ... Michu , Dyer & Routledge = 7 goals & 6 assists .... the rest of the starters & subs = 3 goals & 2 assists . The attacking midfield are creating goals & space
They are twats obviously , but a vast majority did not boo Taylor once they knew he was injured. My question is why go looking for this crap ? That forum is like planetswans and full of half heads by the looks of things
Got very little time for Sunderland fans to be honest. With one or two exceptions they appear to me to be a bunch of ignorant, one-eyed, ill educated tossers - and I've toned down what I really think of them. I could go on but I don't want to waste my time commenting on such a bunch of no accounts.
Doesn't matter the team , for every daft footie fan a team has following them , there are hundreds of great fans . It's just to bad the daft ones are the ones remembered in situations like this
So you've met them all then ? I enjoyed a few pints with some sunderland lads on Saturday and they were nice enough and simply football fans on an away day. And I have met plenty of swans fans who are utter tossers who have banning orders and who go to the railway just to cause problems ! Your problem Ivor is that you are tarnishing everyone with the same brush, and it's not right
Personally I think it's nonsense to suggest Sunderland didn't come here to play. They reminded me a bit of everton, just well organized when they needed to be and they totally snuffed DG out for 90 mins. I notice one thing creeping into a few jacks recently, and that's not being respectful and gracious in victory or defeat, we should give credit to the opposition and remember how much we loathed the big time Charlie attitude of other clubs fans, we are sounding like we are big time far too often and IMO that's something we always Dispised . Of course we can be proud but it's only 3 games and nothing to go over board about, I prefer to take the more humble approach RE other teams as their fair-minded posters have no problems giving our team compliments, let's not turn into a bunch of ****ers hating every other team because they put one over on us,Liverpool ,QPR,Sunderland ffs that's 2 of the 3 teams we played off the Xmas card list already !
I think ivor just had a bit of a reaction to trundles link , over all he's one of the most respectful posters around . I certainly wouldn't hold one post over him in a moment of anger reading idiots posting cr#p about Taylor on a Sunderland forum
I certainly dont have an issue with the way Sunderland played. If a side decides to come for a point and hit us on the break. Then it is down to us to counteract that. Sunderland In my humble opinion came for a point and got exactly what they set out to do and all credit for them and their tactics for that. I am just annoyed at the MINORITY of moron fans who were booing a boy whose career may be ended, due to a horrendous injury.
I did state with one or two exceptions, valley, and obviously "one or two" means quite a few in general context. I also said "appear" because that is how the ones I have dealt with come across to me. Of course I understand that they will have many good guys and accept that. I'd just like to meet one some day. What you will not know is that during one particular period abroad, I frequented a football bar (a close friend owned it) where fans of many British clubs gathered on a regular basis. I can tell you that the Sunderland fans (the regulars and the holiday visitors) were an unfailing, unmitigated pain in the arse. Every other team in the country was crap according to them and they were always very reluctant to concede praise to any side other than their own. Then last season following our defeat up there, the arrogance and insults on their board were pretty bad which has been compounded by the link on this thread. I like to get along with decent fellow football supporters of any team; and I include those at Cardiff City in that. But remember, our opinions are formulated by our experiences in life and my experience of this lot is not good. Obviously there are the sensible guys, like the MON poster on one of our threads, but, for the most part I have run into the other lot. And, I repeat, I do not like them. I accept and respect that you hold a different view, valley, but you must allow me mine. I tend to be laid back and fairly objective with my opinions, so I hope you will understand that I had good reason, very good reason, to post what I did - something that was based on my own personal experience. I will be more than happy to revise my opinion as and when I have been given reason to do so. In the meantime I make no apology for my feelings on this subject.
They have one valid point - Taylor should have got a yellow. I hope he's learned the hard way because that challenge could easily have hurt the other player just as badly. A bad challenge and he came off worse. Simple. That said, they were one of the few sets of fans we had trouble with last season. But I hate it when our lot go overboard. Dragon is all over the Liverpool board making a tit of himself and us. Liverpool are in the **** and they know most of us are chuckling about it. That should be enough. Whatever happened to dignity? Wumming is all very well but if we do end up in trouble we'll be swamped with Sunderland & Liverpool supporters giving it large. Let's leave it there.
Yeah, I agree that Taylor should have been carded for that tackle and might well have been had he not been so badly injured. No issue with the Mackems on that one.
Couldn't resist, Breezy. Some of the stuff he's coming out with over there is cringe-worthy. Grow the f.up.
Yes no need for trying to score personal points, there are many Jacks on the Liverpool board giving them stick not just Dragon, why you feel the need to pick out one particualr poster is quite frankly tiresome and bitter . I agree with your other points though, its ok to have a laugh at other teams expense but i feel we are starting to act with alot less class than we used to, i was always proud of the way we handled fans of other teams, seems the prem dream is turning some into typical prem league riff raff where everything else other than being the best doesnt matter..shame
MOTD ended the debate as you could hear a few fans booing but could also see plenty of Sunderland fans clapping him off. You cant blame the few idiots who boo'd as it happened at the opposite end of the field to the away fans and it looked very much like Taylor tried to take out one of their players and came off worse. Dont forget no one knew how badly he was injured and our fans were just as bad for booing their player who was blameless.
STID, where have i said or blamed them all. There was a debate as to the booing. On the link people have said they booed and were happy with what they have done. But nowhere have i said they were in the majority. If i have please show me where and i will be happy to appologise.
Sorry just quoted you as it was the most appropriate and wasnt directly aimed at you as just surprised so many are still talking about did they/ didnt they when the facts are on MOTD
Some probably felt booing was justified as Taylor almost crocked Gardiner and ended up just crocking himself. When it was obvious Taylor had really hurt himself badly, most applauded, some booed. That's the nature of football fans.
