Man City had the upper hand, it was still 1-1 and no one was playing really poorly. It was still relatively early. Why change things. You will find a lot of the top managers make a change AFTER a goal has been scored because the equilibrium of the game has changed.
Well needed an outlet and pace out wide. We also needed to get Gylfi back in the middle where he's at his most effective. LLlorente worked his socks off but was starting to tire. Those three would have given us a huge threat against imo an average city defence.
Top managers also react to situitions and introduce a change/changes when the game plan isn't working before conceding a goal.
I'd have taken Llorente off for Baston, Fer or Cork off for Monty/Barrow as that would have put Gylfi back in the middle. Seen how that would have went and if needed then brought the other if Monty/Barrow on later.
Well if I was manager, I wouldn't have started Fer, and Monty and Barrow would have started. Gylfi would play in his best position and Leon would be the first name on the team sheet. P.S. Brenda's 4-5-1 has just got two goals v Man City
Yes, it's their cup final. They only have three big games a season....and Kevin de Bruyne isn't playing.
Ummm I've said on numerous times that our midfield and attacking line up should be ------Leon---------Cork--------- Barrow-------Gylfi----------Montero and in this case because of a lack of match fitness Llorente instead of Baston until Baston is fully fit. What's difficult to understand about that?
So you'd play the same players and the same formation every week. Our past managers were criticised for that. Our current manager is criticised for using differing tactics depending on the situation and opposition.
