A little investment in quality and we'd fly out of this division. If we are close to the top come January I'd love us to buy Joe from Stoke to help our push for promotion.
Been a great game, but Birmingham have gone back to their dirty play, surprised with Clotet and all these yellow cards, ref needed to be brave and issue a red, anyway the result is a just reward. Naughtons goal was class, he needs to do that more, he clearly has it in his locker!!......
Baston and Ayew are essential to us having a great season, we must not sell these players, there is a real chance that if we can maintain this standard, we can push for a top 4 finish. Very impressive start indeed, no doubt about it!...... It's official, this is our best start since 1978, long may it continue.............
I think we have what it takes to take Leeds home and away, they may be the bookies favourite again this season, but if we can break them it will be a huge confidence boost for the season, still I will accept a draw before kick off..............
Just back in. Far better performance in the second half - even if we did boss the first half. Negatives 1) should have scored more 2) ponderous build-ups from the back at times 3) Roberts needs to be reminded that he’s not the finished article Positives 1) VdH and Rodon are a good partnership 2) really good attacking strength and options 3) a Manager who is really engaged with the team and fans Bastón played his socks off. Dhanda was a nice surprise. Celina is both a class act and frustrating. Ayew was, technically, a class above anyone else on the pitch. Leeds next - go there in the right frame of mind, and we could surprise them!
Difficult to break a team down who played in the main with 5 at the back sometimes six , we were slow on the right with again Roberts unwilling to make the runs which nullified our threat and with Bidwell & Celina again not great deal better although most of our attacking intent came from that side , Agree with Dhanda who appears to have bulked up which will set him in good stead for the season ahead when word gets out that for the way to get the ball back is go in firm and not always fairly .I thought there were a lot of positives to take from today , we didn't panic when trying to break them down , a few new players in showing that there is strength in depth with a manager who really believes in his players abilities . Looking good but a long way to go yet but as Cooper said he believes we can win any game and that confidence must be a real boost to the squad
The most important thing was to go ahead. The goal livened Brum up,for a short while. Spot on performance,IMO,well played manager, team and staff. Look out Leeds we are coming for you. STID
