So far I haven't been impressed by any of the 'Big' teams apart from Citeh who have looked awesome at times. United look pretty ordinary right now despite the midweek win when they were given far too much space, but they have the players to win a game for sure. If both teams continue in the same vein I think we can win this but do think they will score. 2-1.
If we can force Rooney to play deep then we win this. To do this we MUST sit on Mata and stop him advancing through midfield and we need to give Memphis claustrophobia and not give him any room to play in; he needs space to get up a head of steam and once he gets his legs moving he can cut in or out and skin any player in front of him. We must keep him wide. If we manage to control these two then Rooney WILL drop deep for the ball and that's just what we want him to do. When he drops back he tries to speed the game up with quick give and goes or longer balls to the flanks. If we're on our game we can manage this effectively cutting out the only two world class players Man U have in Rooney and Mata. Imo they are the Man Utd game plan, they control it and run it, stop them and it will be evident that the other Man u players just wears the shirt, they're good but nothing special at all. If we can break the spine of Utd and stop them getting into shape, Rooney narrow and high, Mata right behind Janusaj dead ahead, then we have enough in our game to beat them. Its a close call but the dream is 3-0 Swans. In reality though I see a tense, exciting game with the result a draw or narrow win to us.
Januzai is out I believe. I'm hoping fellani doesn't start as he's normally one to cause us problems.
The way results are going, a win would take us up to second place. There's some added motivation. EDIT: Palace winning - make that 3rd place.
With the way the results have gone today then this game gives added spice and pressure for both teams...i cant wait....
It's a must win in my book, Manu are very ordinary, and I'm sure Monk will target a resounding win............
I hate how I feel on the day of a match..... I go through every emotion. One minute I've thunk we'll win, the next we're getting beaten two nil. I really don't know what to expect. Remember in Moyes first match we were very confident of beating them but got thrashed. They haven't conceded a goal this season yet in the PL and there have only been 5 shots on target against them so far (only 7 against us). Probably be 0-0. Fallaini is back, Januzaj is out....ahhh the thick plottens....
I think we can win this game but I don't think it's a 'must win'. It is Man U after all. They have players who can hurt you even if they haven't been great this season so far, and it's too early in the season to say it's a game we must win imo. Still going 2-1 to the Swans.
Don't get carried away Phil. It's very unlikely we'll have a resounding win. Hopefully, we can manage any sort of win. 1-0 would do. Still think it will be a draw. They've had 3 clean sheets so far. As Stereo says, maybe 0-0 is a likely outcome. Who knows.
I say it's a must win because this team is no longer the Manu of the past, and just like Liverpool they are very ordinary, and what I have seen this season tells me there isn't much to worry about, and at home we should be getting to grips with teams that are average, it's why we had the ascendancy over them last season with 6 points, and I see nothing to alter that from them, I feel sure Monk will want a comprehensive win today, and like others on here feel we will get a 2-1 win, mind there is always crap refereeing?
Its in his DNA, as a scouser by definition he hates the Mancs Teams for today Fabiański; Naughton, Fernández, Williams, Taylor; Cork, Shelvey, Ayew, Sigurðsson, Routledge?; Gomis Subs: Nordfeldt, Rangel, Bartley, Tabanou, Ki, Dyer, Éder Other that Montero, we could have picked the team ourselves. Is Monk hiding Montero? Romero; Darmian, Smalling, Blind, Shaw; Schneiderlin, Schweinsteiger (wish it was Carrick) Mata, Herrera, Memphis; Wayne Rooney (Janusaj injured) Subs: Johnstone, McNair, Valencia, Carrick, Young, Fellaini, Hernández This is a better theam than I thought they'd put out. I thought Janusaj would be starting with Rooney dropping back for Herrera and Carrick instead of Schweinsteiger who is by far the better payer imo Still, we got a job to do and if we can stifle Man U midfield its there for us because I don't think the Man U back four are as good in defense as people are saying

Man U may not have been impressive so far and I agree with that but they are unbeaten just like us. Mustn't forget that. We shouldn't get too far ahead of ourselves here.
