Well, it seems that Russell must have read my post - he didn’t play Martinball and we won <cheers>

Seems that us supporters are not insane - we expected a different result …. and got it!<cheers><cheers>

    Just got back in.

I thought that overall, we were deserved winners.

However, in many, nay, every respect, the pivotal moment / key turning point was the first minute …. Cabango could have been (should!) sent off for denying a goal scoring opportunity ….

Cabango weakly headed the ball back to Benda, Willock pounced and was pulled back by Cabango.

In all honesty, I think the foul was outside the box - but it denied a clear goal scoring opportunity and should have been a red card for Ben.

How the Lino didn’t see it I don’t know as he had a clear line of sight - we wondered if he ‘sh*t himself, knowing if he flagged, the home player would see red, so (thankfully) he did nothing.

However, the most important thing is that Russ effectively abandoned Martinball …..

Dropped Fisher, played a Back 4, and played more direct.

55282 posted the stats above - less than 50% possession and we won!

Anyway, we thought that Benda was excellent and commanded his box. Indeed, one of the largest cheers was when he just booted the ball up to the halfway line, rather than mess about with it<cheers>

Playing the back 4 ‘worked’. Wood was arguably MoM)

Cooper worked his socks off and could have scored.

Oko-Flex looks as if he could be special - has pace and skill. At last a winger :smiley-finger007:

Also, decent cameos from the other new boys Cundle and Stevens.

A win in Birmingham next Saturday would really spark the season into life - who’d have thought that?

Thank God for Einstein <laugh> <cheers>

Agree with most what you are saying except “you missed a pen” it was a great save by our keeper.
We didn’t do enough to get more from that game, it was my first trip to the liberty

Rumours going around that Obafemi is pouting and hasn’t been seen since we rebuffed Burnley’s offers…..

    Anyone heard anything?

Not sure about the pouting bit, but Burnley want him on the never never, and didn't match our £10 million valuation? I seem to remember Potters club showing interest at the start of the year, but maybe he wants PL football, and thinks we won't give it to him, well he'd be right about that!.....<laugh>

Win the next game and heads will turn ! less tapping sideways and back and out from the back on the floor , more hitting forward utilising the wings and piroe and we might see the old crap high possession with no result changing for the better ! Martin's been watching you tube and footy videos how to win maybe ?

Right in front of us - red all day long ….

Might be the break that we and Martin needed. Played a full game of no Martinball with 11 players and won - and the crowd was happy <cheers>

Fans calling for the player to dive. Now that's disgusting. The standard of reffing is dodgy for all, some you get, some you don't but don't start condoning cheating.
