    Barclays Premier League
    Date - 10 February 2018
    Kick off - 3pm
    Venue - Liberty Stadium

Following two outstanding and consecutive home victories against Liverpool and Arsenal, backed up by a creditable away draw against Leicester, next up for Carlos Carvalhal's Swansea City in the PL is a home fixture against Burnley.

On the same day that the Swans were picking up a valuable point against Leicester, Burnley gained an excellent 1-1 home draw against Pep Guardiola's Champions-elect side Man City.

Since (& including) their first fixture in October 1930, the Swans and Burnley have met on 47 occasions, with the Swans winning 16, losing 18 and 13 draws.

In the corresponding fixture last season, the Swans ran out 3-2 winners with Fernando Llorente's injury-time goal giving them a thrilling win over Burnley in a match noteworthy for the incorrect awarding of a penalty to Burnley..

Llorente's thumping header gave the hosts an early lead but Burnley levelled as Andre Gray struck with a penalty, wrongly awarded by referee Anthony Taylor after the ball had hit the arm of Clarets striker Sam Vokes.

Swansea controlled the game in terms of possession and chances - hitting the woodwork three times - but fell behind in the second half as Gray scored with a sharp turn and finish.

Martin Olsson's powerful effort brought Swansea level and, deep into added time, Llorente rose majestically to head in and prompt ecstatic celebrations at the Liberty Stadium.

Last season's victory took the Swans to 27 points from 27 matches. This season, we have 24 points from 26 matches, so a win would take the Swans level with the same stage last year.

My heart says the Swans will win 2-1, but my head says 1-1; what are the odds that Jack Cork will be on the scoresheet?

Burnley are extremely difficult to beat this season. I think we'll struggle to create chances as when teams sit back and defend in numbers we don't really have the creativity to break them down.
If we score first, the game will be a lot easier for us. If they score first it will be Wales v Rep of Ireland all over again.
1 nil, not sure which way though.

If we score first, a 2-0 win. If they score first, a 1-0 defeat

Not predicting the score because my name is not Mohanned Ali but I think we will win. Nice to see some youngsters being introduced and I hope CC keeps this up. What I especially like about Connor Roberts is he always looks happy with a smile on his face.

Very difficult game and Burnley have been excellent this season. 3 points from this and I would be confident that the great escape is possible.

Burnley are a very good team so I'd take a point and move on right now and keep the momentum.

Given the last 3 matches i see this as a must not lose rather than a must win.

However i fancy us to win this given the week on week improvements we are seeing.

Lawro has predicted we'll lose, so I'm feeling confident of a win now!

This isn't what I read - can't remember whether it was in the paper or on-line, but I found this which suggests something similar

"Steven Defour is set to miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury.

Jonathan Walters, Chris Wood, Dean Marney and Robbie Brady are also all ruled out of Saturday’s match due to knee injuries.

Sean Dyche is hoping to have James Tarkowski available, while Phil Bardsley could miss out with a hamstring strain.

Stephen Ward is lacking match fitness and will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

Tom Heaton remains sidelined with a shoulder injury."

    A bit like us then.

My worry is here, now we have won a few and had a few results, most fans think we should then be winning this easy. We need to be realistic a point here would be good whilst 3 would be a superb result. to many people getting way to far ahead of themselves. ( not you)

I agree - let's not get carried away here.
However what has changed is that now there is a feeling that we are well capable of winning this match, and that's what we should be aiming for.
A few weeks ago we would have nearly all felt we would be beaten.
I do think that people are being overgenerous with Burnley when it comes to how good they are though. They are 12 points in front of us - that could be worked out as 4 more wins than us across 26 games. Doesn't sound so impressive then really.

In the form table of the last 6 matches, Swansea are 6th, Burnley are19th :

Got draw all over it this imo.

Don't think this is a must win game, I'd prefer 3pts of course but I'd take 1 at this stage to keep the score board ticking over.

Hardest game so far for Carlos.
We have improved and expectations are running quite high.
Burnley are a well organised bunch of bruisers.
Unlike Liverpool and Arsenal, Burnley won't take a win for grants.
Hopefully 3 points but would settle for 1.
