TBH we were lucky to get away with 3. Just think if they'd made an effort.

    ps

    Why was Bartley captain?
    Surely Ki has more experience.

Don't really get all the comments about us needing to 'cheat' to win games. Fact is on our day we are better than anyone in the country bar City. And today was one such occasion. Could've been 6 or 7 by the end of it and that was without Lloris, Alderweireld, Dembele, Wanyama, Alli and Kane in the starting XI.

Anyway, putting the needless vitriol to one side, I hope you guys stay up. Would be a crime against humanity if you drop and West Ham survive. Was a massive fan of the football you played under Brenda and Laudrup, and your new manager comes across as a top, top bloke.

Best of luck for the rest of the season. <applause>

It's just jumping on the media bandwagon. I doubt the average fan watches us more than a handful of times a season - and why would they? Yet everyone seems to have arrived at the 'conclusion' that Spurs are a team of diving cheats who otherwise wouldn't be at the upper reaches of the PL table. Fact is, we only have one player who cheats - Alli - and he gets an absolute bollocking for it on our board every time he does. You won't hear a single poster on our forum calling him 'clever' or 'cunning' for doing what he does. The rest of our team are, to a man, amongst the most honest in world football.

There is definitely a media-driven narrative at play as Welbeck's dive the other night was worse than anything Alli has done yet pundits up and down the country were saying 'it's soft, but you do see them given'.

What bothers me most of all is the entrenched culture in this country to crucify every young and talented Englishman for every little mistake they make, and then stand aghast as we choke and collapse at every national tournament. Ahead of a World Cup, players like Alli need support and encouragement (not for the diving obviously), not to be turned into some pantomime villain for the likes of Shearer and Murphy to lay into every week.

No band wagons here just observations.
(I haven't been to a Spurs game in Wembley but was getting to 4 or 5 at WHL until the move) and haven't missed a Swans / Spurs game for years.
The fact is Spurs are by far the team that cheats more than any other.
They have become a horrible side. Spurs have a habit of gaining free kicks and penalties in and around the penalty area with shocking tactics.
In the PL only Rashford comes close to Dele in terms of trying to con referees and looking to get defenders booked.

All the is a shame because the talent in the Spurs squad is huge.
Lucky to beat us earlier in the season but in complete command against us yesterday ... without cheating.

Interesting that you have established 'fact' based on - by your own admission - zero full games this season and "4 or 5" games last season.

We have been awarded 3 penalties this season. Two of them came in the space of 10 minutes against Liverpool at Anfield. Only a handful of teams have been awarded fewer. Yourselves included. Although that is probably more due to the fact that you seem to have zero interest in venturing into the opposition box than some pseudo-romantic committment to chivalry.

We have a "habit" of gaining free kicks and penalties usually due to the fact that the league is now mostly made up of **** teams coached by **** managers who have zero interest in playing football and simply turn up to pack the area with defenders and look to play on the break. Swansea are a perfect example of this, although under Carvajhal (sp?) I hope things improve.

The most probable outcome of a team spending 70-80% of a game in possession of the ball in and around the opposition's box is that eventually a defender will stick a leg out or go in too hard and give away a foul. It isn't rocket science.

Similarly the most probable explanation of your opinion - based on the number of games you have actually watched - is that it is taken from MOTD punditry where Dele Alli is the worst thing to exist in this country since Oswald Mosely.

    Spurs spend £10,416.000 per point.
    Swansea £4,635,000 per point

It's easy when you can buy success.
