You are right lots of candidates for MoM and a difficult choice I would go for Shelvey too. At least he isnt afraid to shoot!
MOTM for me was Ashley Williams, looked world class today. And for the record Malmo has 7 Swedish internationals in the squad
Just got back in from the match... thought we were excellent. Too many players impressed me to go with a single MoM but Shelvey was great as was Amat. Routledge was full of running right up to the end. Just a fantastic night. Just how good can life get for a Jack these days ??
Nice bit of sport coverage here, BBC getting the order of the goals scored wrong. Did they even watch the match?! www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/23467194
I'm not being funny here but how bad must the SPL be ? That lot beat Hibs 7-0 Terrific performance from a team short of match practice and the 2nd leg is now going to be a glorified training session. I think we did the Premier League proud tonight

I wouldn't go that far. One goal early on from them and its going to be squeaky bum time. Funnier things have happened.
If Swansea score 1, they have to score 6. Cant see us not scoring and cant see us conceding at least 6 Game over To be fair, difficult to see us conceding a goal
If we can coach Shelvey into keeping it simple instead of trying to do something when it's not on I think he'll be a decent player for us, for 20 minutes during the first half he gave the ball away with every touch playing pointless diagonals and trying to take men on. Thought the rest of the lads were outstanding, buzzing with the result.
I would - if we score a goal then they need to score 6, and we will definitely score! Just got back from the Liberty and everyone was outstanding - special mentions must go the Shelvey - some wonderful passes and not afraid to shoot, Ash - just class, Amat - solid, will be a great alternative to Chico, Michu and Bony look to be a great partnership in the making, and Pozuelo looked class when he came on and went through the gears very nicely, very pacy and took his goal well! But all the team played excellently and the biggest compliment I can make about the new boys was that they didn't play like new boys! Also think that Vorm's shirt was a masterstroke - he looked like a radio active highlighter pen - must have been very off-putting to the Malmo strikers - bet they wish they'd brought sunglasses! All in all a very satisfying nights work, am very excited about the coming season!
what you on about shelvey was outstanding tonight....more of the same from him and he will get a few goals.
Shelvey did some great stuff... and some very sloppy play to go with it, so a bit of a mixed bag. Liked Amat actually, he was very solid. The Bony/Michu combination is going to be an exciting one. When's the draw for the next round? Is it tomorrow?
As for Shelvey. Your writing " for 20 minutes during the first half he gave the ball away with every touch playing pointless diagonals and trying to take men on." I disagree with you. Did you see the game? A few times he lost the ball yes, but he was chasing the opponents afterwards. Shelvey did very well most of the time. Superb long passes. He is really challenging the defense of the opponent as well, which gave us a goal. I find, that Shelvey and all our new signings were IMPRESSIVE. Fantastic how well ALL our new singings, Shelvey, Bony, Pozuelo, Amat, and Canas are performing already.
For me tonight Pozuelo's goal was the highlight, this guy looks class on the ball, thought Amat looked solid at the back, another great signing, pleased that Bony got his account up and running, that will settle him now in front of goal, those two Michu and Bony look set to tear up the Premiership this season, as for Shelvey thought he had a great game, though he needs to improve his decision making, he could then be a great player, his passing long was sublime on times. Canas looks a great replacement for Leon, and gives us the depth we need this season, I had us down for a 3-1 before the game, and my 14 year old went with 4-0, so I'm still learning, but then I don't play FIFA!.................
