After watching your lot today I think you owe Musty an apology, thats must have been avb's half time talk stop us at all cost.Time wasting and keeping your foot in after the ball had gone seemed to be the order of today , even your bench were an embarrassment refusing to give the ball back , didn't expect that off you today and no the better team didn't win
Sh*t display , not sour grapes but what a dismal performance yet agin by the officials, example ,into extra time and we're well on top parker fouls Ben but we come away with the ball ,ref decides (unlike the rest of the game where he waved advantage on ) to blow ,and book parker instead of retrospectively booking him .
Hernandez needs dropping big time, Ki should have replaced him half time, and I'm afraid Laudrup is not calling it right where Hernandez is concerned. As for the referee, well he was very poor, but he wasn't the reason, Spurs went 2-0 up in the first 20 minutes, a very poor piece of defending for the first goal, coupled with a brilliant second from Bale, gave us a mountain to climb. We will now see what Laudrup and Larson are made of from here on in to the end of the season!................
There were two fouls in the second half in one play 2 Spurs players dived in I think it was on michu. He played advantage and we lost the ball. He then at the naxt stop in play Had a word with Michu for moaning, both were bookable offences. I have always admired Spurs, but was surprised how dirty they were. But, if the ref lets you get away with it why not keep doing it.
Our players are too honest! Kyle Walker (horrible bastard) consistently pulls pushes and fouls our wingers who never once take the opportunity to go down! Unlike Parker who was taken out numerous times today by what must have been freak gusts of wind!
I would agree with this if Laudrup starts him in the next game. I was at the game today and everyone was going crazy about the rough house tactics of Spurs in the second half and also the time wasting by their keeper. Spurs did us with 2 bits of world class but if you subtract the first 20mins from the game then it was the Swans who performed better. I have no issue if a team wants to mix it up but its down to the ref to control it, they set upon Michu in the second half and were doing their best to wind him up and get him sent off, really poor from Spurs IMO. I was very pleased with the team overall, once they got into battle mode they were far better than in recent weeks, JDG got put in his place in the first 20mins but came through it, leon run the show after that and tiendalli was a class act today, why we dont give this boy a contract ive no idea! Special mention for Chico, total class at the back and looks like a £20m quid player, im more worried about losing his services than losing Ash !! **** ref, who didnt want to book England players. Spurs wouldnt have grumbled if it finished a draw. Swans got back in the saddle today dispite the loss. Ben Davies is getting better and better. Tiendalli has earnt a contract. Pablo's form is shot to bits. Lots of positives to take from today, congrats to Spurs, but these bigger teams really do lack class sometimes . Onwards to Norwich
Were you at the Liberty Norway? That makes two of us! I agree Tiendalli is class, and we should sign him, but I can't see Bartley staying, haven't a clue why 34 year old Monk is starting before him, his body language during the warm up pre match was that he really didn't want to be there!.............. I thought Ben Davies & Chico were terrific today, and was impressed with Monk too (still think he should hang up his boots though), Michu has slowed down somewhat, but we are paying the price for no quality striker in my view, and there's too much pressure on Michu, for his first season!............ Norwich away next?..................
I was in with the silent people in the cultured west stand, down the front by the corner flag spurs end, i nice view i must say !! looks like Batley has cooked his goose here, not sure the story but something has gone on. These are the games to be giving the likes of him a chance to gain experience, the fact that Laudrup isnt doing that is telling me that Bartley will not be part of the future. Michu is having a dip in form, hardley suprising that our Spanish lot are starting to fade, it is a big jump in terms of the physical side of things and looking at the amount of sly digs Pablo and Michu were getting i can see why they maybe are feeling it a little. It was very important Michu got his goal, he has missed some sitters in the last few games and getting back on track was vital, looking at his reaction when he placed the ball on the centre circle after the goal said it all for me..releif !! Im hopeful that we will gain some points in the next game, there is probably not a better time to face Norwich, the pressure will be on them and Laudrup will need to tailer his formation to counter the closing down that Norwich will do. Chico is special, like Ivor and a few others he has looked the part from day 1 the only question about him was his murderous tendencies !! having spent time on the sidelines for his ninja attack im sure it made him think about what will be required. As i said above, Chico is becoming the main man in the defence, he is sublime on the ball and has a nasty streak which he is managing well, some of his tackles on adabayo were surgical in their execution. Quality player! Ben,Taylor,Tiendalli and Rangel are for me as good a four full backs as any other team has , Dwight has done great and deserves his reward, apparently wage demands are a bit on the high side so we will see.
Agree there Norway, I thought some of our problem today was that we gave Spurs No 8 far too much respect, and he dictated things in the midfield which didn't allow us to settle, wish we had started the game, the way we played for the last 20 minutes, after scoring, but I hope we get some points soon!.............. Anyone notice the handbags between the benches? had a birds eye view from the south stand!..............
Yeah, what happened there then Dragon ? i saw people standing up and looking over but i couldnt see any of the handbags stuff, did Laudrup stick the head in or something ??
They (spurs) wouldn't give the ball back for a throw so handbags were thrown , gamesman's ship on behalf of spurs and a lack of class overall today
we def have to harden up in midfield, bales goal was a screamer but we know he is injured, one wee knock and he would have been off, not saying go and break his leg but it was like Swans thought he was untouchable, tiendalli, good lad, by christ we need a forward
All over some poor sportsmanship from the Spurs bench, but Alan Curtis sorted them out! and the North bank sung his name.............. PS: I think the time wasting we got yesterday from Spurs was as a direct result of Charlie Morgan episode, being a London team not shy of countering our time wasting ball boys! We can only blame ourselves for pretty much most of yesterday...............
Phil I agree, but like the last time we should be able to allow the Ref to deal with it. But unfortunately he was so incompetent, he just let Friedel waste time at will. Apprently his performance was said to be very poor on radio all through the game and on the thread my old man watched it on. Not sure as said earlier though whether it would have effected the result.
I agree that this ref was very poor, but if you look at the time added on, he compensated for Friedel's time wasting!..............
Perhaps my thoughts on us getting an aggressive midfielder or two are beginning to make more sense to some people on here (not you, musty). Spurs are supposed to be a footballing side but they were quite prepared to resort to cynical, dirty tricks to steal the points when it was required. Perhaps this is an area which shows Michael Laudrup's inexperience of the Premier League. Every team, except us, has a player(s) who can put the foot in and you CANNOT be consistently successful unless you have such players in your squad. It is naive to think otherwise, that we can be allowed to play our "beautiful game" without a physical challenge from the opposition. Not that this is a criticism of ML because he is a very intelligent guy who will already have realised this and acted upon it. I will quote Ivor Allchurch again on this, a player who was never even booked, when he said as a manager in the Welsh League, that every team needs a hatchet man. Not his exact words but the message is crystal clear. Our midfield, defensively, is paper thin. Teams march through us at will because Ki and JdG haven't got a clue about this aspect of their job. Ki tries on occasion but de Guzman is rubbish in this context and I'm beginning to suspect that he's a bit of a luxury. Seven million quid?? Not for me or anywhere near it. We need more and I don't think he can give it. It seems to me that he can only be effective and only wants to play when we are attacking or going forward. Well, we are not that good and have to defend quite a lot on occasion and it doesn't help when de Guzman usually goes missing when we have to do that.
