Shelvey should be farther up field , till he's plays from the middle of the pitch and while hes constantly picked , he'll struggle to get to his best game imo . Siggy , Ki and Shelvey should rotate with Britton and Carroll doing the same .

Given Shelvey isn't as good as Ki, Emnes or Siggy as AM and not even close to Ki, Carroll and Britton as DM ... why accommodate him by making others change positions.
Seriously, if Shelvey plays and puts in another performance like he did Saturday there will be at least three people in the row in front of me ejected. They were apoplectic with rage at him.
Can anyone seriously suggest he added anything on Saturday that we didn't have against Man City and Arsenal? Because I didn't see it, the press didn't see it and a lot of people in the East didn't see it.

I'm not trolling back to the idiot who suggested Carroll was poor against City and Arsenal but here a re a few links that disagree -

Compared to

'JONJO SHELVEY: Brought in, with Monk citing Palace’s physical threat, but didn’t match the work-rate of Jedinak and Ledley, was positionally poor and made too many errors. 5'
Wales Online

Jonjo Shelvey: Involved in two big moments in the match, although neither will be remembered fondly. After conceding a penalty, he then missed a good chance to put the Swans back in front. A bad day. (5/10)

I think we've all had to sit near people like that at some point. Seems to me that some people just go to a game to deliberately get on a player's back and use it as a vehicle to hurl abuse. They either think it's clever or it satisfies some weird inner need in themselves. I can imagine what they're screaming: "Shelvey, you're f***ing useless". "Why doesn't Monk take Shelvey off NOW". "Shelvey has to go in January". "Monk is f***ing clueless".

Hang on, Bob, that's what you say on here! Maybe you're being brainwashed by the row in front :)

If I were you I would tell them to shut the f*** up. Or move seats. <ok>

Laudrup = Capital One Cup winner + top ten finish + Europa League = "a loser".

If he can be described as "a loser",we will need a new word to describe Monk. <laugh>

I really hope Monk gets Swansea to an eighth place finish this season (or higher), just so it will stop you from quoting Laudrup as being the manager to have the highest place finish. <laugh>

Strictly speaking, the Europa League was a direct outcome from winning the Capitol One Cup, so it's only really one achievement, not two. Not trying to do Michael out of any glory, like. :)

Calling Laudrup a loser is fair game and brings no comment , but pointing out his acheivements in defence of him is annoying and tedious....seems fair enough..

Actually Toshack is the manager with the highest placed finish at the top of the English pyramid. We finished 6th in '81-82 after leading the division for most of the season. Laudrup won a cup and managed us through to the knock-out round of the Europa league, which is our best finish to date in a European competition - so that's two credits.

And why would anybody be so hell bent on diminishing someone's glory when that is also the glory of the club. Are we that petty and small minded that we **** on those that were instrumental in our success .... apparently we are.

Wow! You assume a lot. I and others don't go to wind up anyone . Being close to the pitch that group, myself and others can easily be heard by players and Montero in particular acknowledges the support with thumbs up, smiles and winks - especially when he' striped something that doesn't work or plays a bad ball but does understand 'don't worry', 'good try', 'keep going'. But when a player repeats the same poor as proverbial performance every grame and continues to be picked anyone has the right to jump up and down and moan. They are supportive and very patient, they don't shout anything of the sort you quote and don't swear. And they don't attack Monk ...
Why should I tell them to 'Shut up?' when they are just expressing (all be it more vigorously than other) what all around them are groaning about?

The usual names are cropping up with attacks on Laudrup when no one had been praising him!
It seems they think if you aren't kissing Monk's backside you must be promoting previous (notably Laudrup) managers.
Oh dear!

Apoplectic = Someone who is apoplectic is not just mad — they're so filled with rage, they can barely communicate.

'Jump up and down and moan' or be 'apoplectic with rage'. Which is it?
