We made it difficult for ourselves today. Played some good stuff in the first half but gave the ball away too frequently at times.
I thought Newcastle were the better side in the second half and looked the likely winners.
Anyway 40pts with 10 games to go.
Has there ever been a better time to be a Jack?

A few seasons ago we would have lost games like that or at best drew....I found this win more satisfying than the Bradford win because of the way we never lied down and go to absolute pieces. It was ugly and unorthodox at times especially in the latter stages and I would not have complained if it ended in a draw but we have been on the end of them games ourselves and got nothing so it was good to see us hang on and get all three points......very satisfying...

The change in the pace and the inventiveness in the midfield when Michu dropped back after Moore came on was extremely noticable. The sooner we get a target man the better - I'd even give Moore a try for a few games. I'm sorry but depite his sublime touches Hernandez is a bit of a luxury - manhandled in any 50/50s and too adventerous passing resulted in the TOON getting the ball way too many times today

I disagree with Pablo. I thought he played a decent game and was the architect behind a couple of chances. I agree though that sometimes he is looking to do something too advanced on the wrong occasions. But what he lacks in consistency he makes up for in other areas in my opinion.

Monk on the other hand was rubbish. He threw the ball away in dangerous areas way too many times. I'm beginning to like Ki in that position. Until Chico comes back obviously. When is he coming back by the way?

Aye, the BBC Cardiff reporters say the same but the truth is the game was more even than they make out and of the clear cut chances Swansea had more than Newcastle. The BBC say Tiote was unlucky to be booked for the raised boot on Dyer because no contact was made, but the same department from BBC Cardiff HQ said Chico deserved is red and three match ban for a similar offence at the beginning of season.

Such is biasy at that place they give Cardiff's game a more prominent spot on the BBC Wales page than the Swans Premier League victory. As if the population cares about results from a globally irrelevant division.

We're not talking about running intercity 125s between Mumbles and Swansea. A small gauge railway with old fashioned trams would be both picturesque and a big tourist attraction. I'm not sure how it could be a blot on the landscape considering the landscape consists of Sweansea Docks, Tescos, County Hall, delapitated hotels and cricket ground, numerous small carparks and a dual carriageway - Anything that takes the focus off that lot would be a good thing.

lived through the era and actually went on the very last tram journey,,,one of the biggest mistakes the swansea council have ever made and we have regretted it ever since.....love to see it brought back and the slip bridge put back.....

In this day and age there would have to be barriers to stop people walking over the tracks with allocated walk areas for pedestrians just to appease health and safety rules. Believe me a track on the seafront now would be awful.

I can't believe some of the stuff I've read through here.
Newcastle are no mugs so don't get me wrong but their chances came from long shots and I can't even remember Vorm making a save in the 1st half at all. In fact during the 1st half Newcastle seem'd more content to kick our players rather than play football. Cisse should have had a yellow card and Tiote should have been shown a red card, I can't help but wonder what Chico was thinking at the time. During the 1st half we created a number of chances and we should have buried at least two, unfortunately they both fell to our centre halves.
During the 2nd half at least Newcastle stopped the kicking and started playing a bit. From what I saw they looked a pretty decent team too. Why the hell they didn't play like that all game is beyond me, I can only guess that Pardew gave them a rocket at half time. That's said Vorm only really made one great save the rest you'd expect a premier league keeper to make.

Special mention to the Newcastle fans who I thought were excellent today, very friendly outside the ground before the game and didn't stop cheering on their team during the game. Ignoring the one dickhead fan on here the Newcastle posters on here are top fans too and is always a friendly board to visit. That Gandalf truly is a living legend
