And I suggest you respect the posts of everybody on here and not respond with petulant put downs. Consider the advice you give others, and try following it yourself.

Lib come back to the real world and open your eyes to what we have achieved here under monks new way of playing football at Swansea. We no longer play one system we play several depending who the opposition we are playing. Monk has been a revelation we needed who is not afraid to try new things and involve new players. His game plans are proving his strong points as he knows we cant take on teams like Man utd who have better players than most teams let alone us. We played to our strengths in a way that also put them off theirs and we won and deserved to win....Well played i say and well thought out garry monk who is proving to be a good manager.....

Bafetimbi Gomis looked quite good against Manchester United. You've got the sense that, as much as it'd be easy to dismiss his about-turn when it became apparent no big teams were interested in him, he really has committed himself. His work rate against United was excellent, and while it was fortunate I was very glad he was credited with the goal. Football is a funny game, largely reliant on players believing they can perform, and sometimes you need that bit of luck to take the pressure off.

Speaking to the official site, Gomis revealed he was happy to have scored but paid tribute to Monk's tactics, as well as (naturally) acknowledging Jonjo's contribution to the goal:

“I am very happy to have the goal but Jonjo was very much part of it. He struck the ball hard and then it hit me which wrong footed the defenders and goalkeeper. “If Jonjo helps me get a goal in that way then I'll definitely take it. Every striker wants to score goals for their team, no matter which way they come. I think it was well deserved as I've been working hard (in training) and worked hard in the match while I had a goal saved off the line in the first half. I was delighted to score the winning goal. “We had a great week preparing in training. The manager decided to change things to deal with the threat Manchester United would pose and teams know how Swansea play so we wanted to surprise them. “Manchester United are a great team who had only lost once in the last 15 so it's great to beat them. We defended well and scored two very important goals. It was important to get a good result to carry on the good work that we've done up to now this season. “It's great to beat a team like Manchester United for confidence. The result was the reward for a good team effort especially after the last couple of weeks with suspensions and injuries. “Not many teams will take six points from Manchester United this season.”http://www.swanseacity.net/news/article/gomiss-delight-with-deflected-winner-2290754.aspx#dkUVKT0Ix7mRcDuQ.99

To be honest, I really like that. He's clearly committing himself and a few iffy performances aside Gomis has looked like he's continuing to adjust. Hopefully it'll result in a few more goals before the end of the season, but he's now got six in the league which is, while far from plentiful, not amazingly bad given his limited playing time until Wilf's departure.

Against Man Utd, and despite our vastly-changed tactics, I felt that for the first time we were looking to play to Gomis' strengths. On a few occasions Sigurdsson looked to split the defence with an early pass, and against lesser teams we may have had a bit more joy.

If we can continue to adjust the way we play to a) get results and b) get the most from our squad, then the future is rosy indeed. While we haven't played amazingly of late the desire, plus the tactical awareness that was on display this weekend gives real reason for encouragement.

We won't play like that when playing sides we feel we can dictate possession against, and if we can look to release Gomis early, like we attempted to do this weekend, we could suddenly start to look more potent in attack.

That was good until you said he has 6 in the league. He has 2 and one of those he knew nothing about as it hit him on the back of the head. He hasn't and doesn't look like scoring and is not good enough for what we need. I hope he is as far away from Swansea as possible come the start of next season. He did play a little better on Saturday, but far from the level we require.

You must look-up the definition of hypocrite libertarian, after read a few books to learn how to use it correctly and in context. When you've done this, re-apply your new understanding and write your post again, this time using words you understand <ok>

    To help you
    Lesson 1
A hypocrite - A person who engages in the same behaviour he condemns others for - Describes you so well libertarian. To see how, check your own posts and report back to me with your results and conclusions

    Lesson 2
A hypocrite - A person who professes certain ideals, but fails to live up to them - You again libertarian and its all in the name: You purport to defend the rite to freedom of speech but only if its your speech, seem right ?

    Lesson 3
A Hypocrite - A person who holds other people to higher standards than he holds himself - Doh! no way, you again libertarian. A quote to justify, one of yours actually.

"You continue to post words in my direction that have no foundation in reality. <doh><doh><doh>
Is that what you were taught in teacher training? To tell untruths, and make things up to suit whatever opinion you have on any particular day?"

I love the last bit, it made me laugh so hard I very nearly missed the point, but to insert a smiley would simply denigrate its hypocrisy so I decided not too.

A lot for you to take in there libertarian I know but, give it your best shot and thank me another time.

Maybe Dai's referring to all leagues he's played in. That would make it six goals in three leagues over his career. Ahhhhhhhh, makes sense now doesn't it ?

He did look the part Saturday to be fair, but he must keep it going over the next 12 games if he is to completely redeem himself imo. I'll take a few dodgy showings if he scores 8-10 more goals this season. Whisper it gently but I'd accept 6, then sell him.

Totally disagree, his first touch is so bad it is a pass. For a big strong guy hos hold up play is poor at best and got robed of the ball so many times from light weight Man utd defenders. He simply doesn't look like there is any goals in him. I know some will disagree I want rid of him.

He could score 20 goals over the coming games and I'd still want him gone in the summer <ok>

Anyone who watched Gomis on Saturday must be more than happy with his attitude, commitment and performance. I have been involved with football for many many years as a player and coach, I saw lots of positives in this lad since he joined us and he's getting better and better.

Agree his alround play is getting better, but I won't forgive him for being a knob throughout the transfer window.

I can see why some don't like what he said but I'm giving him the benefit of the doubt as I have a greater suspicion of the press than I do of him. As long as he continues to do his best on the field I'm happy. Only those closely involved with him at the club will know what attitude he displays behind the scenes, so I'm sure if he doesn't show the right initiative he will undoubtedly be shipped out in the summer. Until then we should support him as I haven't seen any reason not to.

Of course, he'll be lucky to score 2 goals <laugh>

I hope we sell him in the summer after his antics in January <cheers>

For the avoidance of confusion, Dai was still quoting The Swansea Way when it states he has six in the league. Looks like an error from the usually very accurate Scottswan.

Must confess, I do enjoy reading the Swansea Way - there's some very good contributors on there <ok> And it's generally quite upbeat, which appeals to my upbeat nature :) ....as opposed to this place, lol.

I don't rate him and I thought his performance on Saturday was average at best. If he is the best we can do it will be a massive struggle for us next season. This guy is simply not a goalscorer. He would be ok as a back up striker and I see him no better than that.

Don't get me wrong there was a slight improvement on Saturday as he actually hit the target with a header and did some good defensive work. But his all round play is well below what we need or require. Hope he is somewhere other than the Liberty next season.

I won't say anymore as There is no need to keep going back and forth with those who rate him.
