I like it but I'd start Sig over Emnes. And I wouldn't be surprised if Sig is not playing to see Oli start in his place.

Never ever thought of that, but clearly you have, are you one of those that walks out from the Liberty when we are losing? Stop being so churlish.

I'm very much looking forward to it ..... but the most likely outcome is we will lose.

That must be the shortest match thread in the history of not606 lol.

Going to go for an outrageous 2-2 draw. Siggy and Fabregas with 2 assists each. Two goals for Gomis, and Oscar and Costa for Chelsea.

With losing Bony and Ki being away then we wont be at our strongest but you can bet all the players chosen will be right up for this game and chelsea will have to be at their best to win. If they are not and dont show us respect then we are very capable of causing an upset. I dont think we will win but we will give the best side in the prem a hard fought game. I have not checked who the ref is but i hope he is fair and not spoil it with dubious decisions that sides with the big team.

Agree. We'd be in Conference North is some of these people were in the team. We are definitely capable of beating Chelsea at home.

I agree we are more than capable of beating them and it would make my week after the last 5 days I've had! Got a feeling Gomis will score which will add another £1m to his value and wonder of all wonders we get a penalty!

I can't see our defence being able to cope with a first choice Chelsea line up. Another good performance and another attempt to get back to the quality we had under Rodgers and Laudrup would be good.
I'm sure the club will know the situation with Montero but I hope we don't rush him back too soon in a game which odds on to lose - realistic not defeatist - I believe we have yet to beat a team above us in the league. For the same reason it sounds like Siggy needs to rest.
    ------------ Fab
Rangel ---- Fed ---- Ash ---- Taylor (unless he's been snapped up by a bigger team:emoticon-0136-giggl)
    -------- Leon --------- Carroll
    Dyer ------ Oliveira ----- Emnes
    --------------- Gomis (see Taylor)

Whatever team we put out our left side is looking very weak defensively.

If we can get Montero back in the line-up then I would definitely couple him with Tiendali on the left side. The one thing you don't want with a winger like Monty is a FB running ahead of him down the line and taking up the space he can attack to go past their FB. Taylor does that too often. I'd also go with Jazz instead of Rangel. We need smart, sharp players on the field .... and most importantly players that are not afraid to challenge for the ball in the air in the box, which Rangel has demonstrated time and again he has no idea how to do.

I have to say mate jazz has been poor in his last few prformances and had a hard time against Tranmere. I would hate to think what Hazard will do to him. Jazz for me simply isnt a PL full back and we do need to find one very soon.

He was solid against Tranmere. He did and handled everything he had to do. He and Bartley put their bodies on the line to stop a goal. He had Barrow playing in front of him, who does not have the defensive discipline he needs just yet. He setup one of the goals. He was every bit as good as Tiendali. And in his last Prem start he was also solid.

This is a player who has played senior international football at FB, which is not his natural or preferred position. He has only ever featured in the first team as a FB, and he has never let us down. Everybody is allowing Taylor to be rank while he gets "baaaaccccck" to his best from injury - meanwhile we're all getting a lot older waiting for that to happen. Jazz however has never been afforded the luxury by many to be just OK and given games to rise to his best. FFS. He has never let us down - never.

Yankee I was at the game and he was poor and they were L2, he has struggled since he made that mistake against Spurs. As for playing senior international football He is normally second choice to a **** Chris Gunter that is no recomendation. I understand we want him to do well as he is a local lad. But IMHO he isnt pl standard. By the way I am not a lover of Taylor either and if you look back through some old threads I have clearly said so. I still think we need to sign 2 fullbacks.

Agree we need to upgrade the FB position on both sides. But we have to deal with who's on hand and at the moment for me Tiendali and Jazz are our two most skilled and mobile options. BTW - you may have been at the Tranmere game behind one goal but I watched on tv live with the benefit of replays and could see the whole field.

We are not in the same league as chelsea with the other 90% of the other teams, the chances of beating them is low and rightly so. Shocks happen and that is what it will be if we get anything from the game as better teams than us have tried and failed hence them being the top club. The performance is what ill be looking at than the result from a game im not expecting to win.
