Match Day Thread Swans v Bournemouth

The last game at the Liberty was a 2-1 defeat with Bournemouth scoring twice in injury time. Had we won, we would have all but been promoted to the Championship, but we cocked it up! - http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_div_2/7321324.stm

 

As far as I'm concerned , this is the most important 3 points since we entered the Premier .
No 3 points from this game means Monk is totally out of his depth , but it would be an absolute horrible time to replace him with tough games coming up and a hectic Chrismas schedule following for a new manager thrown straight into the deep end .
A win here will soothe a lot , create confidence and hopefully give Monk time to get the season on track ...pretty nervous overall but super hopeful .

 

I tend to agree. Anything but a win could see Monk gone. But as I've said before I'm not sure that a win will prove anything. If it acts as a confidence booster and we kick on then fine but I don't see it right now.

 

I'm expecting a great performance tomorrow and 3 points. Anything other than this will not be acceptable. I think we will find out tomorrow if Monk has lost the dressing room or not. Play like we have been and he'll be gone by Monday morning imo.

 

Well i'M supping Tiny Rebels Billabong at the minute down the King Arthur, debating Monk's Waterloo, there seems to be a growing consensus that there are signs he has lost the dressing room, and tomorrow's game will prove this one way or the other, some feel that it's time we had a big name again in the managers seat, but I have pointed out that more often than not, that comes with a big ego.

Must say I have mixed feelings and hope we do well because we need a manager for the long haul, and I thought Monk could have given us that, I am tempted to a new gaffer only if he is from outside the UK .....

 

I'm sure you can get arrested for that.

Most likely:
Fabianski, Naughton, Williams, Fernandez, Taylor, Cork/Ki, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Ayew, Montero, Gomis.

Pretty much the same as every other week during our horrific run. Monk's message will likely be, "As long as we execute the game plan better today we'll win."

I hope and pray that we see some changes this week - they don't have to be to personnel, but lets at least see a change in formation, or a change in tactics, or a change in our work rate... Something has to give. Monk's had two weeks to figure something out, let's see what he's made of.

Didn't deserve that penalty...still, seem to be playing with some heart, so that's positive.

Bloody dreadful, we're very lucky to be still in this. first goal looked offside, penalty looked a poor decision. almost seems like Monk wants out. if he doesn't then he needs to get Fernandez on for Bartley, the defence are shocking, and at the same time get Siggurdson on for Britton.

 

Expecting a much better 2nd half , I figured it might take a bit of time for the changes to get their wits about them .
With all the other changes , I think replacing Fernandez was a mistake.Watching some of the Leichester game , they are the new " Swansea "
