The way I see it we don't represent Wales or England. Every time we step out on the field the players represent Swansea City. Storm in a teacup and best to ignore.
Common sense and dignified approach from a Norwich City fan and a QPR response from a QPR fan.

In an age of bureaucracy I find it amazing they're insisting we use an English flag when neither the league we play in nor the governing body we fall under are called the "English" whatever, especially considering it's likely that, given the historical inclusion of Welsh teams, that's exactly the reason why they're missing.

No problem with it - I'm happy to go with the idea that it will signify the league we represent. Beside, more important is the quote at the bottom with a revoicing of the position that should Swansea earn their place they will represent th eleague. That's all I care about really.

We can't have our cake and eat it. Even though the League pyramid isn't officially described as the "English" pyramid, it is. As Thai points out, the Bundesliga isn't described as the "German League" officially, but it is. Wales has its own system and Scotland has theirs, and we don't play in either of those. Because of history we play in the English leagues so we can't complain about the flag if we win.

However, I'd expect English flags to be in short supply at the games.

Look, quite simply, in our capacity as League CUP winners (SHOULD WE WIN IT) we would be representing the English FA. If we don't like the association and want to be Welsh, we should bugger off out of the Premier League and the various cup competitions. We can't have it both ways! Fcuking period!!

Because of our achievements so far, most of the enlightened football world is quite aware that Swansea City is a Welsh team, or at least based in Wales, because there are very few Welsh players who actually play for us.

So I have no problem whatsoever in flying the English flag because that is the deal. Accept it or do the other thing. What matters is the fans. Nothing says that we cannot sport our own flags and wave them with pride and I'm sure that people will accept that.

I dont have a problem with using the St Georges Cross, if we change from gold stripes to red stripes next season then it will even match our kit :emoticon-0102-bigsm

Storm in a teacup lads storm in a tea cup.

We have got English players and I have got English friends. There's nothing wrong with English people, like Welsh people most are very friendly expect a few odd morons. All this will do is increase the number of Welsh flags at Wembley next week

No problem at all from me. We play in their league, we should expect to represent it when we qualify.
Better than the whole mess up a few years ago aswell when there was dispute over whether swansea or Cardiff would be allowed to enter Europe!

Hi Scoty . I think the Union Jack would be more suiteble for us swans in europe ,a Jack flag for the Jacks rather than use the english flag.we all know we are a British team in Europe, that would be more relistic dont you think ,up the jacks lets hope we can the cup and that would shut up the Robins up the Road

Any Welshman who does not have a problem with being represented by a flag from another nation when they have their own flag should have a talk with themselves, Swansea city is a welsh club who trade within the borders of Cymru and will always be a welsh club, we are associate members of the english pyramid system and will always be associate members of the english league like all other welsh clubs playing in their leagues

Y Ddraig goch is our flag and if swansea are to be represented by a flag Y Ddraig goch is the only flag.

knackered Wales is represented under the english on the union flag, as a nation we are not as a country individually represented on the butchers apron now check your welsh history, the english version is somewhat slewed in their favour.
