Dai the £90m+ is spread out thus if we go down this season , just for clarity Season 2011/12 - £40m Season 2012/13 - £16m Season 2013/14 - £16m Season 2014/15 - £16m Season 2015/16 - £16m Total £88m I have never seen the club spend money they don't have beyond the financial year we are in the last 10 years, we have made small losses and gains throughout the period. So you still haven't answered the question, who do you think will pump money into the club to overspend, which comes to the next point, it will take us to well over the 100% of income coming in, which would make us in breach of the fifa fair play rules!
sorry you are right, I meant to put £48m over four years, my mental calculator sucks http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/may/10/football-league-agree-parachute-payments
Dai the larger the sums of money you have on deposit, the lower the interest rate, I'm not saying the club is getting no interest on the £45 Million, but large amounts like this, are difficult enough to get a good interest rate, without the all time low in interest rate returns in the current market. Take for example the 6 month Fixed Rate Bonds return of 2.41% with the Nationwide BS, they have a Maximum deposit on that return of £3 Million, so it's not easy in a good climate to get a good interest, let alone the current poor climate of interest returns on deposit. By the way Dai on that 3 Million 6 months deposit, the interest is £36,000, if we the club, have for argument say £20 Million left on deposit, then that would return approx £237,600.00 every six months, or £475,200 annually. But it doesn't end there, you can increase your % interest return by using other financial vehicles, with the Insurance guaranteed bond market, but in this current climate, you really have to know how secure and safe your money will be with other specialised institutions, it's not that simple, and there are risks, I would suspect that the club's bankers will match the current interest rate of the Nationwide, and 2.41% is the highest you would get up to 3 Million, over that it would drop, so you would have to split the capital into different accounts IE Nationwide, Santander, NatWest, etc. At the end of the day, it would not be unreasonable to conclude that the club would be receiving approx half a Million annually in interest, (£500,000.00) not a massive sum Dai!........... please log in to view this image
if we cant afford to stay in the premiership then lets dont bother to try, lets get relegated and lose Rodgers and most of the big players and go back where the club is comfortable in league 2, Because im telling you if we dont give Rodgers what he needs then thats what will happen, you are deluded if you think that Rodgers and the top players wont go because of contracts because its written in all the new contracts that the club must not stop the player from his ambition if the club dont have the same ambition.....what did ash say the other day...he said im staying in the premiership for a few years yet regardless what happens.....this puzzled me and i asked a player who we all know that shall remain anonymous for obvious reasons and he told me why....think small in this league and you will be squashed.
Dai you are talking crap, there is no such terms in players contracts, the terms will stipulate that a sum of money must be offered to release them, then it must be agreed with both clubs and player, the agents and so on. You say you deal in facts, well try doing so so instead of the rubbish spouted above!
that's why jager i keep telling you that you know nothing, it 100% true what im telling you ask the players yourself. i will tell you why too its because if we do get relegated the players will lose a big slice of their salaries and a compromise was reached....you should listen to me mind i have loads of knowledge like that...
Oh yeah and I should bow to your superior knowledge and the players will lose some of their income yes, but that would be the cost of failure, it still means that the players are ours, it still means that if offers come in they must meet our valuations, and the ones in the contracts, all contracts have now much bigger clauses on the sale of the players when they extended.
You can't name "sources" like that expect us to believe you Dai, especially with your track record of "FACTS". Are you going to be investing millions of pounds Dai? No? Thought not. Then why, after operating in a certain fashion (and that fashion gaining us success to the point where we were promoted to the Premier League, and were lauded for the clubs approach on and off the field) would we change everything just because some people want to throw some money around? No, what will happen is the Swans will spend, at most, a small, modest sum, and possibly bring in a few players. Dai, if we spent 10-15mil in January I'll give you £50. I made a similar promise before but since then your "figure for survival" has gone up from 10 to 10-15, so I feel safer in that bet now.
It's so clear to me now. The players all have a clause that they can leave at any time as long as the Chairman doesn't spend as much as the illiterate fans say he should. You tool! All that knowledge and still can't find the CAPS LOCK or write a ****in' sentence!
Whats the odds of just 2 signings coming in and HJ edging his bets that 3 'new' players also join the playing squad around Xmas .... Bodde, Situ and Tate? Would that be enough for Buck?
Nice to see Daiswan taking his usual bullying from the Mods, and being mocked for having a different viewpoint to most. Double standards springs to minds when i think about all the crap Vetch took . Anyway, nobody knows how much the club will spend but the manager has made his views clear! what nobody has considered in this thread that the club may raise money by selling a player , if they get £8m for dyer then that will give buck the money he needs to bring in 4 more additions, routeledge can play wide instead of nathen and we get the money we need to strengthen, its normally how a club like ours gets by anyway,we used the scotland and martinez money wisely and grew from that ,maybe we need to offer up another player to sell on to secure the future of the rest of the squad in terms of prem survival? Dont forget relegation will mean the break up of this team, having had a taste there will not be many who would want to stay if we returned to the NPC, i reckon the likes of ; Vorm Dyer Williams Allen Sinclair Rangel Routeledge These will all have itchy feet if we are relegated, maybe its worth selling 1 to secure 6 ??
Bullying mods? tell you what Norway take a look at his comments first before you go on about being mocked! He does not allow anyone to have a different opinion to himself, if you do you get called an idiot belittled and so on, debate is one thing, personal attacks is another! People are entitled to their opinion and people are entitled to question posters on here in regards to that. He is not being mocked by me , just his opinions on certain subjects, I will stand by my views and will answer anything thrown at me, what I won't stand for is crap and vindictiveness from him or anyone, and I don't expect others to either! In regards to Vetch, I don't think he was dealt with crappily , just was told bluntly to use this forum in the way its mean too, the same for prophet
And Norway I have just been through this thread and can see no bullying by the mods, any other poster or dai for that matter, just debate ! But I stand by my above post as its to point out to you that Dai's comments on other threads that I was referring too.
Oh yeah and I should bow to your superior knowledge Absolutely, everyrime, You know it makes sense.......and to answer one question it will only be the big stars like ash, sinclair, vorm dyer and the like, the bog standard players wont get that clause just as they wont get the top salaries......have a little word with these players and they will tell you that they will be off like a shot if we get relegated....the player has the power today and not the clubs.....
Jager this is your first responce to superswan99 comment "Why does it speak volumes ? I would like to throw back something you always throw at us, if you knew anything about football you would know contracts are a complex thing to discuss, so just leave it to us who know what we are talking about " Like of course you know everthing !! your comments are provocative and insulting ,they also smack of arrogance . Dont pretend to be one thing while being another ,dont preach harmony and practise dis-harmony dont be such a hypocrite, the debate was a few comments old and you jumped on daiswan and started giving him abuse , maybe you should Ban youself ?? Daiswans comments are as valued as anybodies, even if you dont think so Jager. Truth is nobody knows what we are going to spend (if anything) and as much as Brenden loves it here he is still a young ambitous guy so he will want to have the tools to do the job, i guess we are all going to find out about the clubs ambition in the next month or 2 . Im a bit worried that we wont spend enough or attract the right kind of players, if we stay clear of injury and suspension then it may not be a problem but i honestly think Brenden and the club could end up having issues if they dont back him correctly in transfers. Im guessing rodgers isnt going to ask for £15m quid ,he knows what tangents are within the framework he just needs good positive professional backing from the club
Oh yeah and he hasn't used the super dai fan thing to people Norway you are very very selective, so why don't you pick dai up on his superfan thing ?
Dai I agree with your last point, but they have all got new contracts, they can't just sod off at a whim, even if we do get relegated, they can only leave if we allow them, and somebody comes in for them!
Gower , Monk , Britton , Allen , Rangel , Taylor , Williams ....all playing in league 1 or less when we won League 1 four seasons ago ..... all playing as regulars in the Premier league for Swansea now & frankly anyone coming in would have to beat them out of there starting positions . Bodde WILL play a part this season , Agustien will be back shortly , Caulker will be back shortly , Routledge is at the ready as is Dobbie . An ambidextrous wing man on defense & another quality striker would be just enough to see us through without rocking the " Team Boat " we have built with minutes allocated to some of the originals . This isn't a " Save money " scenario , it's a " Why spend it "
