the problem there is there is no rule that the person buying the ST has to be the person that has to use the tickets, all these ideas have been rejected by other clubs as it don't work, I feel that the clubs accept the situation as its a small number of fans that are effected and not worth the hassle, as far as the clubs are concerned the seats have been sold and they have got the money, who sits on them seats are of no concern to the clubs at the end of the day.....
If they had swipe cards instead of vouchers it will help a lot I feel, the people selling tickets will be less inclined to give their season ticket card to someone else. Also you can tie in the swipe card with an image of the season ticket holder on the card, and on a screen so the person on the turnstiles know its the same person.
Yes but when a person comes to the game for the first time an image can be taken, it takes seconds to do so, I know because the technology has been used in casinos for many years, you then tie in that image to the card. Obviously this could only be done if a club was serious about the selling on of tickets, basically they don't give a monkeys unless the FA or uefa says it must be done.
its all been tried and either don't work or cant be enforced, when you buy your tickets then it is yours to do whatever you want with them. sorry there is nothing that can be done its out of the clubs hands and of no business of theirs what you do with your ST's
No dai it's actually illegal to sell on your tickets, I did some research on it and it's covered by legislation what I have linked to in this thread. http://www.legislation.gov.uk/ukpga/1994/33/section/166
it is illegal to sell on the web but there is no way anybody can enforce you not to sell your property to whoever you like and that a fact, Its yours so who has the right to tell you what you can or cannot do with your property......nobody otherwise nobody would be selling their tickets in the first place would they...
Read the link, it's illegal full stop, technically anyone selling on tickets are breaking the law, though I don't think the police would bother someone selling a ticket down the pub, but if you take the piss and it's reported to them, who knows ?
how can you enforce it jager get your thinking head on....you cant can you...you can spout all the jargon you like but you cant tell me how....Once you have exchanged your money for a product then I'm sorry to say it is then yours and nobody can tell you what can do with it, its plain and as simple as that, are tickets being sold by the thousands in the premiership week in week out....that says I'm right that there is no way anyone can tell you what you can or cannot do...fact
Dai you are buying something with terms and conditions, so by buying it you are accepting the terms, just like a myriad of other things you can't do whatever you like with it, for example DVDs and CDs . And I am not spouting any jargon I leave that to others. All I am doing is pointing out that technically reselling tickets is in fact illegal unless agreed to by the club, and that is it. I also pointed out that it's unlikely that the police will get involved as they got far more important things to do, like issuing speeding tickets and sorting out the Christmas do .
jager tickets are being sold on a daily basis, there is no way anyone can stop it happening, and thats all im pointing out, i agree its wrong and should not happen but the fact it is and it seems impossible to stop
The piece of paper which your ticket is printed on is your property, but on it's own it has no use, if you are being checked for I.D. every time you go in. If the person who holds the season ticket is I.D. checked every time, no-one else can use that ticket.
its been tried and it don't work and thats why these people get away with it, you are only talking about a small % and clubs cant be asked to worry about that, they have their money whoever sits on the seat....
It's true, they don't give a **** who sits in the seat at the moment, but then there is no control over who uses the ticket. I'm sure you're right about other clubs using it and failing, but I can't think why it wouldn't work. Do you know why it didn't work?
Well leicester are now using swipe cards for season tickets, so saying it doesn't work is not strictly true! If there is a will it can be done, how many touts will give the card to potential buyers ? The answer on postage stamp please http://www.thisisleicestershire.co....er-City-fans/story-13120638-detail/story.html
So it has been tried and it is working. They had the same ticket machines at Wembley. Once a few clubs do it, it'll snowball. Probably expensive to set up, but if you don't need people manning the turnstyles, and don't need to print twenty thousand tickets for every game, it'll pay for itself.
do what they do at my work, scan your id/season ticket and sign in with a fingerprint, takes 2 seconds to do. to actually register your ticket & fingerprint takes 1 minute max, only an idea. one prob would obviously registering however they could do that at your first game appearance
That will fall foul the civil liberty people who scream blue bloody murder of finger printing kids etc , having photos is hard enough to get, you wouldn't believe the hassle we had of getting them in casinos, swipe cards only would render most touts out of the frame and about bloody time I say !
I'd agree with that. Both swipe cards and the having-to-provide-ID option aren't as difficult as to make it impossible, and would greatly improve ticket security and transparency.
I have to pay twice for the same seat again My father cant make the game so have to pay £17.50 to exchange his season ticket for a child ticket to take my 6 year old instead
