As good as you have done I don't think you'll be near 56 pts imo. Looking at the remaining fixtures, and taking into account home advantage, no star player injuries etc, i think it will most likely end up like this: 1) Utd 2) City BIG GAP 3) Chelsea 4) Spurs 5) Arsenal 6)Everton 7) Liverpool 8) West Brom 9) Swansea 10) Stoke I reckon no more than pts will separate 4th from 9th. The top, down to 7th, looks right now is how I think it'll pretty much finish.
I'm amazed at how long it takes for people to learn things here. When Dai starts posting provocative rubbish on here just ignore the post as if it's not there. Eventually he will realise nobody gives a toss for his wind up techniques. Move along.
I'd be very happy finnishing 9th this year. If WBA continue their current form then 8th could be on the cards, fantastic. Plus, if we win the Capital One cup we qualify for Europe which would be absolutely amasing. If we continue as we're going then next year 2013/2014 could be the most exciting year of our existence with Premier league football, Europa league football and, I pray for this, the return of the derbies.
You are 100% correct there Stereo, some posters do like a bit of conflict, if you just smile and move along it makes things a whole lot easier for everybody, ive learnt the hard way but i have changed these last few months. Better to just move along and let people score their petty points..life is too short !
Exactly mate, but some are as stubborn as he is, I always treat Dai the same way, sometimes we agree on things, like paying outrageous money for cup games, and sometimes we disagree, most other things
The chance to play in the Europa next season is of vital importance, as it will allow us to attract much higher calibre of player to strengthen our squad even further
I don't agree that its the be all and end all , a bit like what comes first the chicken or he egg .To make a decent go of Europe without jeopardising our PL status really needs careful consideration. The squad we have atm are more than good enough to keep us up this year , but if we lose a couple of players such as Michu, De guzman or Tremmel in the close season they'll need replacing along with new additions just to maintain our current level. We have a large squad which still needs trimming down as the fringe players I can't see having a kick next year.(Tate, Gower, possibly Monk.Lita. Moore. Jazz, ). I've posted this before but take a look at Newcastles' position , they didn't bring any one in ,in the summer and lost Ba and with few injuries could cost them big this year.Lets continue as we have over the last ten years, steady progress with an up wards momentum imo .
I ain't all that bothered about the Europa myself as well. I'm looking at it in an angle where ML would be able to attract better quality players through the chance to play European football.
Now at last valley has said something i agree with...... European football is our next step up the ladder and it will attract players. some of you may have watched the last time we were in Europe and even though we lost more than we won it was a great experience, today we will put in a better show as we were lower leagues in them days playing teams of a much higher standard. I hope we qualify as cup winners but if we dont we are still in with a great chance in the league.... European fooltball is the next step and i cant wait....
It's become a popular myth how early we were safe last year. We actually only reached the holy grail of 40 points on the 14th of April when we beat Blackburn with 4 games remaining. It transpired 37 points was enough for safety but 40 is always the target. So far 33 and counting in mid January....It took us til the 3rd of March to get to this point last season! Incidently, at this point last year (after 23 games) the bottom 4 clubs had 19 points or under, this year there are just 3 clubs that low. However Wigan had just 15 points and escaped ....the same points as QPR presently. Sorry, stat attack over!
I dont think wigan can keep on doing the great escape act every season and i really fancy them to be relegated.. I think it will be 3 out of 5 that will go down......villa,wigan,reading,qpr and the toon. I fancy reading and the toon to escape the drop out of that 5...
After the Adkins fiasco, I wouldn't be surprised to see Southampton down there. Let's not forget that 2 years ago both Birmingham and Blackpool were doing better at this stage and then........
Agreed swimaway, Southampton were just beginning to build a little momentum and I think that the sacking of Adkins has just derailed that momentum despite the draw they had last night. I predict QPR, Reading and Southampton (although before the sacking I would have had a stab at Villa).
I'm waiting until we get 7 more points before I start speculating on who's going down. This game can bite your arse when you least expect it, so I'm keeping my powder dry for a little while longer.
