Nice to have the official announcement, even if it was in the German press last week, great news and having Siggy for a full season, goals, goals and more goals, that's what we want!................... please log in to view this image
This is the news I think we all have been waiting for since the final whistle blew on the Liverpool game...great work Huw Its astounding how we have got a 22 year old playmaker, who scores his fair amount of goals and is a set piece specialist that has proved to an extent in half a season he can cut it in this league, for £6.8 million whereas Eden Hazard has reportedly moved for £32 million after only playing in the French League (dont get me wrong he could come over here and be absolutely fantastic and bang in 30 goals!)...the mind boggles...think we have another bargain on our hands
Some say "sycophant and acolyte" flow through his veins. Some say the Icelandic volcano dust cloud was caused by the after-effects of a 40-yard rocket that hit the crossbar in Reykjavik. Some say the greek financial crisis is because they spent so much money trying to sign him. All we know is, he's called The Sig.
Some said he's going to go to Reading/newcastle/ManU/arsenal. Some said he wanted premier league football (but not necessarily with the swans). Some said he was out of our league. But The SIG said, "Huw, just show me the dotted line". The Iceman comes, the Iceman likes, the Iceman signs.
Some say if he plays for the swans for 5 more years he'll be able to represent the uk in the Eurovision song contest. Some say the recent bout of hot weather had been caused by his radiant smile shining down on swans fans across all of Europe. Some say he persuaded George Osborne to ditch the pasty tax because his mum used to feed him on pasties when he was just an Iceboy. All we know is, he's called THE SIG.
This is wonderful news...That video highlighted he is able to create stuff for us, we need finishers. or the team we have to improve on that next season. So happy
Absolutely didn't think he wanted to sign for us , absolutely sure we didn't want to sign him for the money being asked , absolutely happy to be wrong !!
For those that don't seem to have realised, which is nearly all of you, he hasn't actually signed yet. This is really nothing knew. He would have already have agreed the terms in principle before Huw flew to Germany. So this isn't really news. He still has to actually sign the contract. And don't think the Brendan move to Liverpool is dead. He is still favorite with most bookies despite the swans denial and despite this news about Sigurdsson. There is no smoke without fire.
Of course he hasn't signed yet, he must have a medical first before as it says on the club website, but that is a formality as he was obviously playing for us and had a medical before coming on loan to us. Once he has that he will be unveiled as a new player for us with Huw and Brendan.
Casual, he may not have signed, but he will. All terms are agreed and now it's just a medical, which he passed 6 months ago.
Bookies just create odds, so there is nothing to believe of disbelieve. But odds reflect the probability of something happening. When odds shorten suddenly, as in Brendan's case then that usually means something is happening. That may not lead to anything but reflects that he has more chance of getting the job. If the bookies makes someone favorite to get a job, that doesn't mean that is what the bookies think. It's just the odds. So I believe something could be going on. Many times I've seen this happen and the person gets the job. Not always, but just something to note.
