my opinion on coady is that he's stalled for the last 12 months. i think just maybe some hype got to his head but he's not really developed much in the past 12months, he's got the power but he's general play in midfield is not very special. I think moving back to CB is required myself. In contrast both sterling and suso have improved a lot i nthe last 12 months... sterling has started looking up more and passing while suso's workrate and physical strength really came on a lot. Coady = carragher suso = mata sterling = john barnes. you heard it here first pity there's no fowler down there (don't say morgan, he's not fast enough)
kelly > carragher... kelly can do a bit more than carragher ever wanted to... trust me coady = carragher.
Like Suso the more I see of him. Shame he doesn't have a right foot - Never understand how professional footballers that get paid ridiculous money can't learn to kick properly with both feet, but apart from that looks very impressive. Just got to hope we don't hype Suso & Sterling up so much like Nemeth & Pacheco only for them to dissapoint.
Ridiculously harsh on Carra that IMO. Try and remember what he's done for LFC over the years on and off the pitch. You might not "rate" him but if ever a player has put his heart and soul into our club over the past decade and more it is JC. That may not be enough for you but it sure as hell is for me.
hang on guys reread what i wrote "than carragher ever WANTED to" i have seen on the rare occasions where the blood rushes to carra's head and he forgets himself the skills he can bring to the party, i've seen him beat a man and put in a great cross or make a great pass... then he calms down and "LOSE IT" ie carragher plays a certain way and kelly looks like he can do more and is comfortable doing it. nothing to do with ability or who's a legend and who's a wannabe. the way the conversation was going was comparing young lads to some senior player they could be.... kelly will not be carrgher but i think coady could be like carragher... kelly won't be agger either, maybe a babbel.... anyway... wisdom = agger... robinson = beglin, flanno = nobby styles (sorry we've not had a clogger right full )
It still doesn't make any more sense now you've explained it mate Anyway back onto Suso....I actually see a touch of the young Fabregas about him and as much as I agree that he needs a bit more beef about him I think this is less of an issue than it used to be. Players get so much more protection these days (certainly the clever ones do) that I can see the lad making the next step up pretty soon. Hope he keeps developing, the u19 games will definitely give him more experience against good standard players and hopefully BR can really help this kids development too.
nah mata all day long you know it makes sense... fabregas is a wannabe gerrard but should be a wannabe alonso... all ego. suso is an attacking player all day long.
A bit more from Brendan on using the youngsters http://www.clickliverpool.com/sport/liverpool-fc/1216643-brendan-rodgers-plans-to-include-starlets-in-his-liverpool-fc-blueprint.html Brendan Rodgers has revealed his plans to include Liverpool's youngsters in his Anfield revolution. The Reds' production line has enjoyed something of a revival with the likes of Martin Kelly, Jay Spearing and Jon Flanagan all making the step up to the club's senior ranks in recent years. With the latest crop of players emerging from the operations centre in Kirkby said to be the best since the respective breakthroughs of Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher, Rodgers is keen to continue the development starting with the club's pre-season tour of North America. The 39-year-old says he will have Pep Segura, the academy's technical director, among his coaching squad for the three friendlies across the Atlantic later this month in a bid to develop an understanding of the current set-up and how it can be included in his own Anfield blueprint. "If the players are good enough [to step up], that's important," he insisted. "I've liked what I've seen in one or two of the younger kids I've had up with us in the last few days. They'll be up [at Melwood] with me all this week as well. "I've spoke to [academy director] Frank McParland at length in terms of the academy structure. I'm bringing Pep Segura, who's our technical director, out to America with me so I can learn a bit more from his work and what he's doing. "My vision isn't just for the first team - it's a model and a philosophy that hopefully we can systemize right the way through the football club. If we get the chance to give those players the opportunity then we'll do that." One youngster already hitting the headlines this summer is midfielder Suso as he emerged as a standout performer in Spain's defence of their European Under-19 Championship title. The 18-year-old, who will face France in tomorrow's semi final, has demonstrated qualities which would be well suited to Rodgers' brand of short-passing, high-intensity football. And though the Kop boss is well aware of Suso's ability, he has underlined the importance of a strong mentality and timing if he and other starlets are able to make the first team transition. He added: "I think, hopefully, one thing that the club can benefit from is I spent many of my years managing the expectation and expertise in young players so young players will be important [at Liverpool]. It's just about timing. "Everything's about timing; when you put them in and he's [Suso] a boy I've really heard enough about in terms of his talent. Hopefully I find that working with him in terms of his mentality will be strong and if he does then he'll have a chance. "I want technically gifted players but players that have [also] got courage with the ball and for that you need to be mentally strong, and that's what we'll look at over the course of our youth players and senior players."
Suso : 'I hope I get some minutes & a chance to show what I can do. I'm really happy at LFC & I want to stay'
Encouraging words. Seems like everyone at the club are committed to the cause, not read about anyone who doesn't want to be here and fight for their place (even Aqua has not come out and said it).
This, would love to see Suso and Sterling given chances next season, if there good enough, they are old enough. As Saint said, these seem exacly Rodgers type, so would not be surprised to see them feature.
