They said the same of Coutinho.....

I think he can and think he will and already has bulked up a bit too. It is his fitness that was a big question for me as it seemed he couldn't last a game but is showing he can at Almeria so hopefully that helps too.

    --------Coutinho----------
    --Suso-----------Suarez---
    --------Sturridge-----------

A lot of skill, creativity and movement in that. From video's Suso seems to have a pretty good through ball technique when he cuts in on his stronger left foot. Could be great for Sturridge.

downing is a negative nancy who didn't make a decent f'n chance.... are you lot mad!

you cannot make downing look worse.... merely make yourself look bad by missing chances.

think about what you said here.

he put in crosses to no-one...

in other words he either never looked up or just donkeyed it anyway..... thats not any good to anyone!

all the best crosses are aimed not hit in hope.

I agree with you, but there is a two fold process here. Cruyff used to tell his wingers to put the ball in the box, that was their job, if there was no one there then it was his job to get ont he forwards/AM/CM to make sure someone was attacking the space and putting the effort to get in.

I think it was Downing hitting and hoping along with Carroll for some reason refusing to get involved in the box!

  10. Or, he'd been told to put crosses in so he put his concentration hitting a decent ball into the box and the forwards (especially Carroll) didn't do their job!

Look, Downing was absolutely ****ing **** for us and no one will convince me otherwise, but I won't sit back and see a player get unfair criticism.

He did stop putting balls in after a while but who wouldn't if no one was getting into the box? Why carry on doing something that makes you look like a twat?
