That was part of my OP suggestion, does nobody read the whole post anymore?

  3. Actually if we were in no man's land come Christmas and Arsene decides to call it a day, I wonder if Martin O'Neill may not slip very well into a caretaker role. Gus Hiddink would still be my top choice though.

My fix would be to bring back Dein
    appoint a defensive coach
and give Wenger licence to buy another top CB and DM whatever the cost.

There is no point sacking wenger now. He has devestated the squad over the last few years and I doubt anyone could get in the top 4 with the current bunch of clowns we have. I would let wenger play out the season and then replace him in the summer. Early in the summer. With someone who can take the club forward for the next 5 years or so.

  6. But for David Dein to return I think you'll have to show Ivan Gazidis the door or something since I believe he has been opposing DD's return to the board. Actually if we part company with Gazidis, hopefully Dick Law will go too. He was the one Gazidis brought in to assist in negotiations on transfers and I don't think either are very effective. DD did a far better job.

A defensive coach and more bodies in the right places in January would be essential for all our well being <ok>

The first part I agree with.
The second part should be assessed at the end of the season.

    Has he?

I've not read anything to suggest so, can you point me to where you've got this info from?

I could almost agree with you but having seen the performances so far this season i fear we may be relegated if Wenger stays, he has completely lost the plot and can no longer inspire the team, we have just lost to a mediocre Blackburn team after struggling to beat Swansea last week.

The Shrewsbury game may well be his last.

  10. Actually you have a point about the players. I doubt if any of them would rate much above 7.5 out of 10 for any of the matches so far for the club. It appears they are more effective while on international duty.

I really don't know abut Arsene Wenger. If he orchestrated a major turnaround of our performance, how would you feel about his tenure then?

We wont go down but I could see us coming something like 9th. The best we can hope for this year is to have a resurgance like liverpool did last year, and to get 6th as a result. Although to be fair 6th is basically the same as 9th. Sure you get a bit more dough for coming 6th but it doesnt really matter. I would consider selling RVP in january if he wont sign a new deal to avoid the shambles this summer with nasri.

if we got 4th obviously wenger has to say because he will of done well. 5th maybe he can stay. 6th he should prob go. Below 6th and he has to go. All imo of course.

Contract up end of next season. If he doesnt sign a new deal then he the board will sell him in the summer. We would get more for him in january, and we wont need him if we are way off cl pace and out of everything.

Also, although I love him, he doesnt fit into our system because he isnt best playing up front on his own.

He hasn't indicated that he wouldn't sign another contract at Arsenal, so it's a bit of a speculative leap of faith to summise that he wouldn't.
Selling him would be a massive loss for us.
It makes no sense, unless we get into a situation like Nasri's

I think his goal scoring record as a lone striker shows he can play that role extremely well.

I can see him ending up at chavski after this season. Would suck but there we are. He will want to win things and he must realise that arsenal arent going to be competitive whilst we rebuild for at least 3-4 years.

Wenger will allow it to happen just the same.
