No, in something called reality. Anyway, a few weeks prior we had a lino at the same end, deprive of us of 2 perfectly good goals against the barcodes that cost us 2 points, so stop your bleating.
OOOOooooooh, i'm sorry for having a different opinion than little old you, and i'll bleat whenever i want kid. It's obviously your time of the month.
haha, sory I forgot, as Kopites you're used to dealing in alternative realities, I'll leave you to it
Ifs, buts, maybes. (Yawn) It is what it is. We can all point to luck or injustices that have gone for or against us.
Alternative Reality 1. BR is in his first season as manager of LFC a work in progress situation, hes been forced to play members of the youth squad, play for half the season with only 1 striker and struggle by with a weak squad by LFC standards, but hopefully he'll build a stronger squad for next season which will hopefully see us progress on this season. Alternative Reality 2. Davey Moyes stated this is the best squad hes had during his long tenure as manager at EFC, his club at this moment stand 6 points ahead of the LFC rookie having scored less goals and conceded more and having played one game more than their neighbours, finishing higher than LFC is always the clarion call at Goodison, but even Moyes's 'super squad' might not manage it this season despite LFC's frailties. I'll go for Alternative Reality 1 Tobes.
haha, I love the 'work in progress' tag, he's really done you lot a kipper with that one. Wasn't Kenny's side a 'work in progress'? If not why not? He's been 'forced' to play with one striker, due to him deciding to loan your £35M striker out to WHU & failing to bring in a replacement, oh wait, there was the £11M he spunked on Borini?. Don't make out he's been hard done to, it was of his own making. Moyes has spent £10M net in a decade, Rodgers & Dalglish have spent more than 7x that amount in 1/5th of the timeframe. Football (in case you haven't noticed) is about money, & we haven't got any, which makes the fact that we're still ahead of your shower despite being massively out gunned in the transfer market, even more remarkable. We are over achieving given our budget, you're under achieving, despite the best efforts of Mr Rodgers in dumbing down expectation levels.
In fairness there's a lot of sense in this... but Everton have done well but have sent big on occasion, they've had nice sales along the way to offset it. Rodgers and dalgish is what you said... you need to add in hodgson's spending too to get up there to the figure mooted. Dalglish In - Suarez, Carroll, Bellamy, Coates, Enrique, Downing, Doni, Adam and Henderson. Out - Babel, Torres, Degen, N'Gog, Meireles, Poulson, Insua, Kyriakos, Jovanovic and Konchesky. net approx 37mil.. Rogers In - Allen, Assiadi, Borini, Sahin, Sturridge and Countinho (1 year loan) Out - Bellamy, Kuyt, Maxi, Aquilani, Aurellio, Adam, Spearing, Andy Carroll (loan out) net = 17.5mil in the summer 20.5 this january to fix an impending disaster.... so all in all both men spend about the same. both men have actually spend now MORE than you claim that moyes has spent and don't forget hodgsons spending to come on top of that.... all in all while everton have played the survival game with moyes and won nothing in the end our miserly carling cup and such after 5 years of american ownership which makes bill kenwright look like a saint all in all i'd still rather be in LFC's shoes.. waste and all. Dare i say it but your club has merely tightened its belt with the recession and live within its means (see 05/06 when you did splash 25mil) It must grate to see LFC pull 20mil out in january and then probably pull the same out next summer while old bill and golem scrape around to find the next asset to sell before you buy. I don't mind the accusations cos i know in the long run LFC can make mistakes like hodgson, rodgers and dalglish et al.. sack the lot and start again but everton can make one mistake and be done for so i wish you well in your endeavours to keep plugging away.
Lol: The old "if we do well this year Moyes is a genius, if we don't its not his fault: we're poor" I'd love a no pressure job like that. Very depressing as a fan to think your most successful year, any year will be a 4/5th place finish. Unless of course it seems you like celebrating poverty & mediocrity. Might be reality but doesn't make it taste any less bitter. Mito has said the rest very eloquently.
The facts are the facts, we're amongst the paupers of the league under Kenwright & have consistently out performed our budget due solely to Moyes. Until something changes in the boardroom we can expect no more than we currently have, in fact if Moyes leaves probably less. As for your lot, you can't continue to spend money like a drunken sailor indefinitely, without tapping back into the cash cow that is the CL. Dalglish got sacked for it last year & Rodgers might have bought himself a years grace when he signed, but I fully expect that'll be the minimum requirement for him next season. If he fails to deliver then you'll be back to where you started when Woy was appointed
