I've had a trawl of the Mousers' board, and I simply cannot believe that there are Mousers who believe that Suarez and Queen Kenny are the innocent parties in all of this Utterly unbelievable!
If he was with us, he probably would've been dropped and transfer listed as soon as the racism charges were brought against him. In fact, if he was with any Premier League club but Liverpool that would've happened.
I find the whole situation boring to be honest. So he didnt shake his hand. Who cares? IMO they shouldnt be forced to do it in the first place. Get rid of the pre match handshake I say!!!
I think that the pre-match handshake is one of the few bits of sportsmanship that are still required in the game. Keep it and book anyone that doesn't want to participate for unsportsmanlike conduct.
If it was anyone but Terry, they probably would act - a fact undermined by the first six words of this sentence...
This supposedly so important pre-game handshake was swiftly ditched for QPR v Chelsea, just to accomodate John Terry. His actions have caused unecessary situations twice (W.Bridge), and now Suarez. Just get rid of it.
If he was with us none of this would have happened as the rivalry between United and Pool no doubt contributed to this saga occuring on the pitch due to the slating etc that will have taken place prior to that incident
Sorry, but having a debate about whether the handshake should be there at all is missing the point because its a separate discussion. As a matter of fact I probably wouldn't want it to happen at all, although certainly it should happen at the end... but that is irrelevant considering it was already in place and it was clearly the right thing to do to shake hands under these particular circumstances. You can't use the first argument to justify non-compliance with the situation as it was presented on the day. The fact is that the handshakes are normally irrelevant, but this one wasn't. The scenario leading up to it meant that it was very important, and therefore it is not surprising that there is such an uproar, as there should be.
Lessons learned from the above: Referees are no better at peace-keeping than they are at officiating games. Suarez can't be kept out of trouble.
