It's being suggested on the Mousers' board that it was, in fact, Evra who refused to shake Suarez's hand. Someone has linked to a photo-collage that appears to show that when Suarez approached Evra, the latter lowered his hand, suggesting that Suarez then thought "fcuk you, then!" and moved on to the next player, leaving Evra to grabbed at his wrist in a "I was only kidding!" gesture. If that is bourn out on tonight's MOTD, I may have to make a very public apology on this thread. If it's inconclusive, I'll start a poll to decide who was most at fault.
It certainly didn't look like Evra was very 'positive' in his actions but frankly both individuals and their clubs are hardly covering themselves in glory in this matter - so both can sink in the mire as far as I am concerned.
Conclusive - Suarez refused to shake Evra's hand. Suarez = scum Evra = gentleman There's something rather odious about certain South Americans ... Dogleash = blind and stupid
It's clearly Suarez who refused to shake Evra's hand, not the other way round. Evra didn't help matters with his celebrations after the final whistle though - they were perhaps a bit misjudged. Fair play to him for at least offering to shake Suarez' hand though, quite why Suarez keeps seeming to perpetuate this conflict between himself and Suarez (and indeed Utd and Liverpool) is beyond me.
Yes, I'd have to agree, having seen all the angles covered on MOTD. And Linekar, Shearer and Hansen were all convinced that the fault lay with Suarez. The honour of this thread is restored
Over on the Liverpool board there are a load of pictures that seem to show Evra withdrawing his hand, but if you watch the actual video footage then you see Suarez go for De Gea's hand so Evra lowers his in response. Plus his hand was already kind of down and to his right because of where it had ended up after he had shaken the previous player's hand. http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/123986-Pictures-Tell-A-Thousand-Words http://www.not606.com/showthread.ph...d-ve-Shaken-Him-Till-His-Teeth-Rattled/page10 (first post on pg 10 for the second link) As I said I'm not at all convinced by either of the pictures. What happened is clear to any reasonably objective observer.
Scousers are just embarressing themselves with their stance now.Dalgliesh is rapidly becoming a complete laughing stock. I'm started to have serious doubts that the American owners will put up with much more of this complete PR disaster. I asked my wife what she thought about it all and all she said was "I'm starting to feel ashamed to be a scouser".Says it all really.
My Mrs is half Mauritian (coloured) and half English (White) and born in South Africa. She has had to put up with her fair share of discrimination and racism and I find it impossible to defend Suarez in these circumstances. I made my opinion of Suarez very clear after our game last monday and if anything it has only declined after today. As you have said...J Henry is probably questioning what his new club has turned into and is probably seeking a rapid turnaround. HIAG said that Dalglish will get sacked after xmas. To be honest I think it will happen at the end of the season when we don't get top 4 or he will resign under the pressure after all that has happened.
You should never have got rid of Rafa, mate. As the song says "don't it always go that you don't know what you got till it's gone"
I am one of the few that wanted him to stay. He is the only person I can think of that I will want to manage our team after Kenny. With the money our owners are willing to spend I am sure he wouldn't have even considered Carroll and probably would have gone for a cheaper/better foreigner than Downing. people will say 'yeah but he bought some crap' which is true but it was never expensive flops (Veronin free), every team has crap who the fans don't want to see near the team. People blame the Alonso situation... Yeah legend of the game but SAF lost Beckham, Ronaldo and Tevez and it didn't cost him in any way.
I've waited to comment here till I knew that LFC had discussed this prior to the game. This morning it transpires they did, so Suarez would have been insrtucted to do so, and has gone against it. Thats why he was last in the line, timing wise technically 11 players should be occupied with their own handshake to not notice. Calculated defiance imo. Lets see what the club do about their tarnished reputuation again. All quiet at Klanfield so far! (a name Suarez seems determined to keep).
Looks like I'm not the only person who thinks the owners should get involved: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17000125
