It just makes things easier imo, I wasn't complaining though... never mind.

Maybe it's not, I have no idea what anybody else is thinking. It's not offending me though. People can support whoever they want as far as I'm concerned, I certainly wouldn't get myself wound up if somebody called me a plastic.

Nor do I but it still bugs me.

Being bugged by something doesn't mean I'm wound up.

    'Can't stand being called one'

  4. I lived in that house from the age of 2 to the age of 13.

Every home game, we could hear the crowd cheering. I could tell whether or not we'd scored, from those cheers.

No problem having the money from " Plastic " Man U fans from abroad
Chief doesn't mind having the money placed at his feet ,to buy Titles , by all those worldwide Man U fans that began after the plane disaster and has grow through the world to this day . Don't get me wrong , what happened with Man U since that very sad day is a very strong bind that I respect greatly . Chief just wants the money and then ' Be gone with you " ......Nice .

  9. I think it is wrong to make a blanket distinction between "real fans" and "plastics." There are far more layers than that.

Obviously, you have those fans who, like me, grew up within the shadow of the stadium.

Then there are those who grew up within the vicinity. I wouldn't necessarily call them plastics.

Then there are those who grew up in the county (or borough, if you live in London). Those "fans" do have a tinge of plastic about them.

Then there are those grew up somewhere in England, but no where near the ground of the team they purport to "support." They can fairly be labelled plastic, although I am prepared to allow the degree of plasticity to be mitigated if there is a strong family connection with the team.

Finally, you have those who don't even live in England, and who have absolutely no historical tie to the team. This is your true out-and-out plastic. I am thinking, in particular, of Irish who support 'Pool and Chinese who support United. Bendy-bendy fans. Shocking.

Not that the term "plastic" should imply that the "fan" is any less passionate about his club than someone who, like me, grew up in the shadow of the stadium of the club that they have loved and cherished. Although, there is a legitimate question mark permanently hanging over their heads, I think.

I hope that clears things up, Tel. Let me know if you need any more clarification or advice, like.

  15. That's because you're too modest to say it, mate.

    I know.

I'm just grateful that there's been no wumming on this thread.

They can do as they like, and it's called opinions btw, which is what the OP asked for, and I never had a pop at him either.

No idea why you've felt the need to take the moral arbiter role in this thread btw.

  18. Where you born in Chelsea, Bluey?

    London?

    The South?

I'm not trying to test your plasticity, mate. Just interested, that's all.

Don't thank me , thank the millions of non ticket holding fans that supplied you with all the money for recent success in the Premier stupid , instead of turning up your nose at them like one of those types of Man U fan's
