Just wondering why someone goes to a football match and sits listening to a radio. Hardly conducive to creating a good atmosphere. Is it widespread or just a Hull phenomenon?

I think it's stretching it a bit to call one person listening to a radio a 'phenomenon'.

Phenomenon “ a fact, occurrence, or circumstance observed or observable“. It is a fact this occurred and was observed. Doesn’t have to be frequent. Second instance of someone saying they were listening to a radio, isn’t it? Fair enough they were there when some of us weren’t but seems an odd thing to do. One poster on here was told to keep his voice down as his daughter was trying to listen to how Man Utd were getting on. This was in the East Stand where the biggest fanatics in the KC cauldron go.

Not a radio in sight. Makes you wonder why there isn’t carnage as standing up in the upper tier of the WestvStand is apparently a threat to life and limb.

It is quite common to listen to Test match special on a radio whilst watching cricket, they even sell a cap with the radio built in. I have seen people at the footy who listen on the radio. Its less common than cricket but not unknown

You are back to not understanding the points made in posts I see.
Do you think people sat down listening to radios should be more widely done and leads to a great atmosphere?

The EFL's response to our complaint..................

Thank you for your e-mail, we’re sorry to hear you did not enjoy your matchday experience.

Comsec, in conjunction with Football Dataco, work on behalf of the EFL with regard to Stadium Data Protection, and as such they may attend any matches across our competition. As part of an initiative to minimise the unauthorised collection of data across EFL fixtures, access is provided at matches for Comsec representatives to operate and identify potential infringements.

On a matchday, the implementation of these checks by Comsec are to be managed by the home club and their stewarding teams respectively.

With that in mind, should you wish to complain about the nature of these checks, the manner in which they were carried out, or your matchday experience in general, we would advise you to formally seek the observations of the Club’s Safety Officer/Stadium Manager or in the first instance contact the Supporter Liaison Officer whose details can be found here https://www.hullcitytigers.com/fans/supporters-liaison-officer/.

Thank you for contacting the EFL.

    Kind Regards
    Danny

    What a surprise, they don't give a ****.

And people wonder why Bury was seemingly allowed to die with no support whatsoever.

The EFL can go royally **** themselves.

    A hypocrite, Julian.

And, pointing out someone sitting down at a football match listening to a radio is a strange thing to do is not criticising Hull it is criticising people who do it.

Yes, Istanbul is dead compared to the around the clock partying and alternative attractions in Hull.
Nothing much in San Lorenzo, Napoli and elsewhere either...

Population of Napoli is 972,000 - there is no other team.

They make pizzas, crime is endemic, poverty and squalor is rife and the Camorra rule the roost.

If they had a sea shanty festival it might distract them from their grim plight.
