Hull City AFC Supporters Committee J.Baron Date: 10/05/17 Having published the minutes last Friday I would like to raise issue with its content. Firstly you stated at the meeting and in the minutes that “it is not the policy to not use Hull city” it was explained that this was a big issue for many fans and that the use of the club playing name should be used at all times. It was also stated that many fans now feel the “Tigers” nickname is tarnished after the unsuccessful name change fiasco. As a group we appealed to you to use the club playing name wherever possible. It was with great dismay that the club felt the need to once again, ride roughshod, over the feelings of its supporters by issuing the winners at the player of the year awards with trophies engraved with the name Hull City Tigers. Once again the club says one thing and does something completely different. With regards the name I ask for the following. 1. The clubs playing name returns to the playing kit. 2. The club use the playing name when advertising fixtures, from the academy to the first team. 3. The club use the playing name on all tickets and advertising relating to the purchase of and renewal of tickets and season memberships. We go to watch Hull City AFC after all. Secondly the club urgently need to address the membership scheme issue. I said at the meeting which was also omitted from the minutes, that it felt the club were being “spiteful” in its continued use of the scheme in its present form. I appeal to you again. Start dialog with fan groups to change the scheme before it is too late. With relegation looking likely (I hope not) I dread to think what attendances will be in the championship. The club has driven too many supporters away and its time Hull City AFC started to build bridges. I also appeal for one last thing. You ENSURE the vice chairman is present at the next meeting. https://workresthullcity.wordpress.com/2017/05/10/3/
Like that's gonna happen, considering he doesn't even attend matches. He won't attend and why should he? That said, time for plan B, which is an email to Tom Rowell in which the pertinent questions are asked in a calm, lucid, non confrontational manner so that he might pass them on to his boss. Questions like: Given the continuing unpopularity of the Hull City Tigers brand, would you review your past decisions and consider reverting to Hull City? If not, what might prompt you to do so? and Do you recognise that people feel frustrated with the withdrawal of concessions, and would you consider amending them? Do you agree that they have played a major part in our declining attendances? If not, what do you consider to be the factors affecting home attendances which have led to a decline? Do you think that the club's non participation in the City of Culture celebrations so far might be remedied? The COC has received positive national and international publicity and associating the club with it would build many broken bridges and help restore the club to its rightful position at the centre of Hull life. Would you agree? Hull City and the COC would generate a notable synergy and reach untapped customers. How can it be made to happen? When will we see the Hull City - El Ahly game? Get Tom Rowell to ensure that he returns to the next meeting with some written statements to the questions that were emailed for Ehab's attention (assuming that Ehab Allam is 'too busy' to attend).
