* To All 606 members * I propose to take control of the 606 Twitter account away from @AllHellLetLoose. I have caught him sending odd messages to Naby Sarr
Fairly or not, I will always associate Naby Sarr with Duchatelet, Meire and that melt-down season of 2015-16. He is the last of the rudderless raft of ill-matched network experiment players from the Peeters/Luzon years (even if he was not in the network himself prior to signing for us). After just four and a half seasons that bunch of oddballs, misfits and wage-stealers have all been got rid of one way or another - at great cost to our Club, which became a laughing stock and a basket case because of Roland and his grinning incompetent liar CEO. Sorry, but even if it is only by association, that experience does not endear me to Naby Sarr. If he was a better player I could understand the sense in wanting to hang onto him. But he isn't. I'm glad he'll be gone in the summer. When he goes, and when ESI buy the land from Duchatelet, the door will be finally be closed on that shameful time, in my view.
Defending rule #1: Never aim your back pass at the goal itself. Now Sarr isn't alone in forgetting that - sadly many very highly paid defenders have done so. But it could have cost us promotion. Pure keystone cops defending. We outplayed and outfought Sunderland that day, but that was at least partly because they never turned up. Had they been on their top game, and been gifted a goal like that, we'd still be playing Fleetwood and AFC Wimbledon in front of 7,000 fans.
1) the back pass was from about 20 yards away, plenty of time for Dil to react... Dils didn't need to be sent an email FFS! 2) we were always taught to pass the ball back to the keeper's kicking foot, which is what Naby did. I do not hold Naby responsible for that goal in the slightest.
Was the BFG one of these "rudderless raft of ill-matched network experiment players" that you are pleased we are rid of?
If my Auntie had bollocks she would be my Uncle.. I see no point in looking back and saying If, in Football or life. We beat Sunderland on the day. I would like to see Naby released at the end of the Season, there are better players out there.
