I'm not saying Wood is going to suddenly change and be Messi, just asking if dropping him would change anything. We have still conceded 5 in two games. I didn't see the Birmingham game but the QPR match was one of the worst I have seen, we had 11 problems on that day. We have spent the whole of (the short) preseason preparing for 4-2-3-1 with signings to fit that system and after two games we have gone 4-4-2 which sounded like it was a train wreck. At 2-3-1 we have the players to make it work, or we should have. If they are not good enough then the signings were poor. Antonnson and Roofe up front means nothing other than 4-4-2 and I don't believe that is the way forward. Cellino and Monk knew what we had with Wood, if he ain't good enough for 4-2-3-1 we should have addressed it. Why plan and arrange everything around him as a loan striker if you're not going to make it work.
I would prefer a 4 in defence rather than just dropping them all and not replacing them. We were 9% better yesterday only 10 players were a complete embarrassment.

I'm gutted to be honest, before the QPR game Roofe, Antonnson, Sacko and Wood on paper looked far stronger to me than previous seasons. I even made a post stating how many goals I could see them getting. I can't help thinking a proper preseason might have made a world of difference but we will never know. Monk chopping and changing worries the hell out of me and rumours in the press today.... Cellino has supposedly spoken out against Bamba and his lack of captaincy skills stating he will find us a new CB and captain. Now we might all agree with that but IF true what message does it send out to the players and how does if affect the respect they should have for Monk.
So Cellino is playing chief scout again ( like he wasnt all along). Mighty which serie b ****e can he land us with?
