I remember phoning Metro Radio - Charles Harrison Ithink - to ask Gordon Lee why he'd sold Supermac.
He was my hero as a kid - just what you wanted from a number 9.
Cocky, Loud and a hell of a shot.
He talks to my Dad quite often as they both live in the Sluice and see each other waling the dogs (not the wives!!)

If I remember right, his wife/partner is Brian Johnston's (AC/DC) ex.

Wasn't Lee jealous of the adulation that Supermac got?

Talking of Supermac...... and the others

    from The Mag

    get your vote in now

As if it wasn’t bad enough getting knocked out of the FA Cup before 62 of the 64 third round teams had even kicked a ball, there is now a vote to humiliate Newcastle United even further.

To ‘celebrate’ their coverage of the FA Cup, ESPN are running a poll to find the greatest ever FA Cup moment…also known as the most humiliating one for the vanquished giant.

    Here are the five candidates…

    Hereford v Newcastle
    Colchester v Leeds
    Bournemouth V Manchester United
    Sutton United v Coventry
    Wrexham v Arsenal

Ladies and gentlemen, I don’t care what you vote for, just get voting for any of the other four!

The voting ends on the 20th January, tell all your friends do also do your duty.

Ronnie Radford and Ricky George must be consigned to history, do your bit.

    To vote go here

Bournemouth V Manchester United has the most votes, so keep it coming
maybe this needs a thread of its own

Hereford was a real shocker, however we should be used to shockers by now.

Not going to mention another certain game.
