Diplomatic relations are now established. Best wishes and good night. I'm going to dip my beak and then drift off to the land of nod (rather than Green Ginger) and forget, for the time being, that Hull City and the Seattle Seahawks exist!
Beg to differ there...both were "tough" teams, but had some very skillful players. Watched Leeds a fair bit between 65 & 71 when I was living there...Giles, Bremner, Eddie Gray, Terry Cooper, Alan Clarke, Paul Reaney...excellent players...if occasionally "chippy". Flyers, a few years later (72-75) had Bobby Clarke, MacLeish,Leach,Dornhoefer,Barber,Parent - excellent technical players, but you're right, did have a few thugs Dupont,"Mad Dog" Kelly,Schultz, as Leeds had Norman Hunter. Games gone soft.
Yes, the NFL likes to show the worst that our great land's silly popular culture has to offer. Thankfully, here in the States we can change the channel and watch the Puppy Bowl instead of Katy Perry. At least our national anthem wasn't butchered as badly as is customary. My team had another losing season and finished last in their division. I don't want my football team to suffer the same fate as my American football team. For the love of God, can someone on City put the ball in the net? Before springtime, preferably.
Truth be told, the Super Bowl can be trying for fans of the game. Regular season games last about 3 hours, which is already too long but bearable. The extra hour added (A, to add more advertising spots and B, add time for a stupid halftime show) makes it unbearable unless one is attending a good party.
I was surprised to see yesterday, that the international TV audience for the Superbowl was less than a quarter of the one for the Chelsea v Man City game. And the viewing figures don't peak during the game, they peak for the half time pop star nonsense.
Says it all that more people are talking about Katy Perry, a dancing Shark & some adverts than the actual sporting event. I'd hate it if the FA Cup/ League cup final got like this.
I'm happy that New England won, actually I'm happy Seattle didn't win, I'll have to try & see Lynch & Sherman's post match incisive interviews!
That was excellent last night If City had half the battle and desire the Patriots had we,d be safe by now
