Now as someone who viewed the cup as an unwelcome distraction, I am more than happy to admit I've been caught up in the "magic of the cup" All together now...
How did we win now traveling back and thought it was our worst performance in a long time but who cares
Stoke's run to the FA Cup final last year... Cardiff; Wolves; Brighton; West Ham; Bolton With both Manchester clubs out it wouldn't take that much luck for us to avoid the big teams too! We could find ourselves travelling to Wembley without needing any major upsets... (I hope this unwelcome distraction goes on and on!)
King lambert my arse that was lucky neither team seemed that bothered. Pleased with result but so little passion it seemed like a poor pre season friendly apart from the 4000 fans who' bothered their arses to travel and pay out hard cash and make lots of noise.
Very negative. I think that the Norwich players without doubt have a lot of passion. It's been a key part of our season.
You know what, it really saddens me that this once great cup competition means so little to so many these days. It's all about money and PL survival now, who gives a toss about actually winning a trophy anymore. It's the younger fans I feel sorry for, I'm fortunate enough to have experienced the thrill of the cup when reaching the 5th round really meant something. I know that before Sky came in football was on it's knees and I'll be the first to admit that I thought Sky was the best thing ever then. But now these ****ing average footballers are earning a fortune and have to be rested cos the poor little ****ers can't play more than once a week. They should try doing a real days work. ****ing Murdoch Rant over !!
That's because it wasn't a positive post. Entirely agree with kicks rant. Reduced prices at the hawthornes and still only 2/3 s full and only 11000 at Bolton today. Jesus ****ing wept
I'm not that old but I was brought up in an era when Norwich were also previously very good and going on cup runs in the 80s/early 90s. Now some of you others are starting to cotton on to how exciting a cup run can be - especially when realistically the only team left in the competition to completely outplay us is Tottenham! I know I have an ally in Munky and we have stated many a time before about sharing some very fond memories of those glorious victories against West Ham and Manure an being tantalisingly close in the semis. Who is to say this wont be our year!
Just thought about that and am now thinking we will almost certainly get an away tie to a North London club!
IF we are up for it, and get the luck of the draw, we could go a long way there are now by my reckoning only 7 premier league teams through to the last 16 - add a max of 2 more from tomorrow's fixtures OTBC
I would be very surprised if we don`t go on to win the thing now and qualify for Europe....................... Nurse, nurse SN has got out of bed again, bring the medication....
Just got home from the game! Great victory and cant wait to watch the draw tomorrow with a purpose AGAIN!!! Would also like to give a massive for young Jed Steer, i think we have a real gem here with him in the ranks and tbh he seems better than rudd with about every aspect of his game. What a way to make your debut
The one that surprised me was Holty's goal! Someone said it was our 15th headed goal of the season! I know Holty is a bit special, but has he really got a head on the end of his foot?
