And so do you, these players were not chosen because Pearce didn't see any that would further the squad, nothing to do with the federations at all.

And if players were refusing to play, why were there Scottish players in the short list of 35 ? It was whittled down to 18 and they were cut out !

If any of these players get banned by playing in this mickey mouse tournament and are unable to play for Wales in our qualifiers, i would expect the recriminations to start and rightly so.

Yes and out of them only two play in the same positions in the midfield, so even if they were available I still think they would have been chosen to represent us in TeamGB

There you go again the biggest event in World football is the World cup, now the reason me and you are clashing is because i am talking about football exclusively and you are talking about the olympics, the olympic football tournament in footballing terms is an under 23 competition and is seen as such in world football. Now are you seriously telling me that the olympic football tournament is bigger than the FIFA World cup.

Yes an under 23 tournament that these players can compete in, most of them won't have any chance of representing their nations, so it's a massive honour for them to do so. And the Olympics are a massive stage for all the athletes in it, no matter what sport they are competing in.

You are always going for the negatives in this, there are far more positives, and it will allow these players to experience something that they will likely never have again, and that is being Olympians representing our country.

Now can you tell me why GB has not bothered to enter a football team since 1972. Why have England,Wales,Scotland and Northern Ireland resisted with the support of the government of the day in putting a team forward for every olympics since 1972. If as you say it gives the chance for players who would otherwise not have a chance to play in an international tournament, and secondly why is this team only being put together for this olympics and not also for the next olympics in 2016. It would also have been a great honour for these players in all the other years where GB did not put a team forward.

There is a reason that is well documented, but i would be very interested in your take on this
