Know what you mean Cats - I don't really want to keep adding further restrictions and deadlines, and would hope that players play fair and get their challenges in while there is still a reasonable amount of time for a defender to study. But maybe deadlines is the way to go. If you like you could PM me a mobile number and I'll text you when I know your challenge? That said - I know that Wooly sometimes goes to footy on a Saturday, so he may not come on here again, which gives me yet another problem Blue: I sympathise - Irish mud pluggers are a world apart from proper racing!
A' up Chanin, Wincanton is off pal... If you don't get back on to alter it then i'll leave it up Reebok what happens... Otherwise I will challenge Brough, who is above me with Madam Lillibet e/w @ Newcastle in the 1.05... Cheers...
Sorry steve just seen myself newcastle 105 grey area win if you feel you have not got enough time I will pick one of the later races I will check at 1 to see on your decision if you have not posted I will change the race good luck
Lots of questions and not many answers! Today has become a nightmare with the cancellation of Wincers, I had no contingency plan for this, add in the late change in scoring and it's a total headache! Steve's question poses a genuine consideration - why should a player be deprived of the chance of gaining three points, by the no-show of his challenger? So the answer to this is yes, but obviously there can be nothing added to the difference totals (not that anyone has any yet anyway!) If a challenger has nominated a race and the meeting is cancelled, then unfortunately this will have to be a void match, unless a new race is selected and the defender agrees to it. If agreement isn't reached, I'll allow a replay on a day when both players are available. The defender's agreement is necessary, as they may not see the new challenge, or see it too late to respond. Red: again, not something I had covered, but Brough's challenger is Bucks. If Chan doesn't return, I'll allow you to defend against Buck's selection. If Buck's doesn't show up ................. I'll fecking shoot myself! I may have to reconsider the choose-your-own-race thing. If I had selected the race myself, then everyone would be in the same position.
Hareth ew for me. Whose idea was this? please log in to view this image please log in to view this image
Just teething trouble Reebs -I am sure it will sort itself out. Perhaps you could in future weeks offer 3 races for people to choose from which may offer the added spice of a choice of race for the challenger to make but allow us to get around other problems. I am sure it will work out in time, you are a gent for putting in the time
Sorry Red only just looked. Happy to go with 1.05 at Newcastle and will nominate Northern Acres. Good luck.
Sorry, I think it was I who put forward the idea of the challenger choosing the race to keep Bob interested. However, if Bob isn't going to play with a format that involves someone else choosing the race, maybe there is no point in that. I think everyone else was happy with Reebs selecting the race so maybe we should revert to that but with revised scoring?
That's pretty much what I'm thinking at the moment Ron. I don't mind putting in the time and trouble to do this, but it has to be workable - maybe in summer where races are hardly ever abandoned it could work like this, but this won't be the last meeting abandoned at a late stage. Blue: thanks for your comments and support
I know I dropped out and then changed my mind with the new format so if you want to put me to the bottom Reebs so I have to start again for not taking part last week?
It won't matter Badger - at the moment we are all on zero points! And if Havinacow doesn't show up sometime soon then you stand a good chance of ending the day number one!
The 1-05 Newc race had mixed results for players Unlucky Chan with Northern Acres, who I felt was coming to win when he fell, and Uncle with Grey Area who fell at the first! But well done Red with second placed Madame Lillibet 8-1 ew which leaves you the current leader!
Looks like Jamba and Blue dead heated with £1.30 a piece. What were the chances of that? Does that mean they share the 3 points? Mine is quite easy, as usual.
I am glad you worked that out Ron as those fractions were beyond me without my calculator, a 2-5 winner vs a 4-1 place. I am not sure who gets the points, I may as my price was bigger or Jamba may as he finished in front. I am sure Reebs will adjudicate.
Sorry for picking an odds's on for my race, was not fair to Ron, at least Blue did well! Only did cork because of the abandoned meets. Will not be in such a rush next week, And will be not doing odds's on, ever again! (promise).
No Problem Jamba - It was the first time I have ever watched a race from Cork with an interest. All just fun at the end of the day and with it beings such long odds on it did give us a chance to steal a place winner.
