Because so far all that’s been released is that’s it’s competiton to the champ league and nothing to do with domestic football. But apparently you know better? CL doesn't need reshaping, great news if they've scrapped that bullshit plan. Copenhagen are agaisnt Man City, that's a good example of it working as intended. Newcastle played PSG, working as intended. Europa League is stupid. Conference is even worse. Just bring back the UEFA Cup format. One ****-off big FA Cup where little teams can get further. The revenues and impact on squads is insane and with like 5% of the reward of CL success, needs to be changed. If the prize money was nearer 25% then it makes sense to add flavour to it. The Conference League is a ****ing abomination. Put all the same clubs in the UEFA Cup and, hey presto, same result, same experiences, better money for the lesser clubs and more incentive for it to work. This ESL is, has been repeatedly stated, a desperate bid by clubs with unserviceable debt and atrocious business models to get more money, presumably so they can continue to spiral into worsening debt. Who's interested? The abominations that are Real, Barca and Juve. UEFA just need to get a grip and pull it back, less is more and all that. The prestige is disappearing with ever increasing pools of clubs. What I wouldn't give for a return to a European Cup that was only played by teams who won their league, and a UEFA Cup with the 2nd and 3rd placed.
CL is being reshaped into one big league next season. 32 teams. 8 games each in one big random table where don’t play everyone. It’s ****. But uefa have a monopoly on football so can do what they want. **** format with more games to make more money… not that uefa care about money. They’re all about the fans.
