So I've already posted these in another thread but a player like Jan deserves his own for what he's done for Spurs.

Absolute Rolls Royce of a defender. Was excited to sign him back in the day and he never disappointed. From the early Super Jan celebration at Old Trafford to downing Dortmund in the Champions League playing left back, such a brilliant player to have watched for this football club. In my lifetime, he's up there with Ledley as the best CBs - and one of the best players - to have played for Spurs.

Legend gets thrown about far too easy these days but he's most deserving of the status. Wish him well wherever he goes next and would love to see him back in some capacity when he hangs up his boots.

Cheers, Jan <cheers>

What really stood out with Verts was that in the summer of 2012 we just lost a Rolls Royce due to Ledders retiring, yet rather than economise and buy a Ford Mondeo we brought in another Rolls Royce as soon as possible - in no small part because we'd supposedly first made contact that January, and Levy was definitely seen in Amsterdam a few weeks before the transfer was completed so he knew how important it was to get the deal across the line

What could’ve been had Ledley not retired... Him and Jan at the back, stuff of dreams.

There was a point when he msde noises about wanting to leave....think it was when Nice but Dim was in charge... wanted him out and had no time for him then.

It is a testament to his performances and his attitude to the fans that he managed to win people like me back over again. Shame Rose could not learn from him.

Was lucky enough to be at the Dortmund match at Wembley in February 2019. His second half performance was only bettered by Defoe's against Wigan. Jan was utterly unplayable in that half and it was a thing of beauty to watch live with my daughter.

Really hope he returns as a coach.

Cheers Jan and good luck

He wasn't alone in that, as Hugo was making similar noises

It's almost as if they didn't appreciate the additional workload that came from Dim Sherwood believing that there's no need to field a DM...
