Their crowd of 27,000, given they gave away thousands to kids for 83p + vat is a sad indictment of the state of their club.

As unlikely and possibly impossible as it may be, I'd love to see them promoted to the Prem this year if not next. Our recent record against them is appalling and if they go bust now then they'll forever hold it over us.
I would like a few more derbies, to right that wrong, then they can **** off right into League One and stay there forever.

Pretty soon we will have to redevelop SJP to fit in all the new Mackem turncoats.
I want to see them drop to league two but no further. Karma is well and truly calling for them. They are the manifestation of your atypical mickey mouse club. As for their 'loyal' fanbase - do me a favour. Deserted their club in droves instead of getting behind them.
So if they go into administration and instead of coming out they reform that would be a whole new club then. One without those 6 league titles and FA cup win, making us by far the more successful team. I would take that, not because I am jealous but just to wind-up Fredor. Although knowing him he would carry on supporting the defunct Sunderland just so he could tell us how much more successful than us they were before they closed the gates.

Although it's fun to see them doing ****, and seeing their bragging rights diminish to the point that "6 in a row" is now utterly meaningless....at the end of the day, it's ****ing depressing to see a club in that state, the owner doesn't give a ****, the fans are now completely apathetic and expect the worst, and the club is falling apart. It's basically a repeat of the crap at Portsmouth than saw them drop from the Prem to the 4th tier (although that was the fault of saggy faced wheeler dealer cockney twat).

I am genuinely surprised at how many have said they would like to see Sunderland fall into utter obscurity or even disappear and have to form a brand new club with no history or honours. I don't particularly care about our recent record against them. I did at the time, and **** it hurt when they were lauding it over us with the six in a row, but that would become meaningless if they suffered like that. In some ways though, I wouldn't at all begrudge them having those six in a row to hold onto as it would be a fitting end to the rivalry as it allowed them to finally draw level on games won so that honours were shared. The irony would be that those six wins would probably have contributed to their demise, as by the sounds of it they would have been better off in the long run going down much earlier than they did and getting rid of the deadwood that is crippling their club.
I would prefer to see them survive and recover. It isn't a rivalry without a proper rival, and the rivalry has always been good for both clubs. As others have said, it is also good for the area to have as many successful football clubs as possible. The North East already suffers from a lack of league clubs compared to other areas of the country, and certainly a paucity of top clubs. Perhaps, in the long term, the restructuring of non-league football might finally see an end to this, and an end to the northern league being a bottleneck for North-East teams, but that is many years away.
At the end of the day, they are football fans who wear different colours on a Saturday afternoon. I don't hate them because of that and wouldn't like to see any fans go through a club disappearing. Yes, it's fun to watch rivals hurt for a while - just as it would be for them. I am sure some of them were hoping we wouldn't bounce straight back when we went down. However, if our club had disappeared it would have been bad for Sunderland, and I believe Sunderland disappearing would be bad for Newcastle.
In short, no I don’t want them to fall into obscurity. Their trials and tribulations are funny enough but I wouldn’t wish the destruction of a football club on any set of fans (except for Luton)

It IS nice to see them suffering a bit. I'm not bothered about them as club, I've got some cracking mates who support them, but on the whole, I genuinely believe they have fans that hate us with more passion than they love their own club. If the shoe was on the other foot, they'd be revelling in our misery so for that reason, I'd like to see them relegated again. It's not nice when you've got an owner who doesn't give a toss about the club, as well we know. Shame for their real fans.

I saw part of Coleman's post match press conference after their latest defeat. He looked a broken man, lost for ideas, watching a team that looked more like a Sunday park side. It was a bit sad to watch and I felt for the fella. Why he joined them I've got no idea.
It is fun to laugh at their embarrassing performances though. They've a good chance of dropping down again - I thought that before the season started, after they lost their best players.
I don't know for sure if they are losing money every week of the year - parachute payments aren't tiny sums. So I've got no idea if they need to go into admin or even bankruptcy. Their gate income must be tiny, and I don't see the reported 30,000+ in their stands.
